Same thing happened with mine. Any USB cable connected to the Fulla (which requires a not small amount of force) stretched out the connector such that it could not be used with any other USB device. I have a replacement on the way. Strangely, my SMSL did the same thing. Is it common to cheap USB devices?

Micro USB is kind of shit in general.

I am using mine only plugging on USB data/power input. I found that it supply power more than enough from data/power input only. Does it make difference by plugging both at the same time in terms of power and audio quality?

I saw this picture in an interview with Jason and Mike and thought about all of us ;)

EDIT: changed "you" to "all of us" to reflect the complaining by us silly, demanding audiophools

I've had two so far (original which had the iOS issue, and a replacement) and haven't had any issues with the ports (despite the tight fit). Did your stock cable that came with the unit break too @Kattefjaes ? I think that would be the most compelling argument for another replacement unit, since I'm assuming that cable is of standard spec.

Could not resist testing these out (before wrapping them up as gifts). This is my first brush with an AK4490... first impression was wow these are digging down into the noise floor, hyper-detailed, a bit sizzly with female vocals & highs! Fun, just loads of character, love the design. Very ergonomic, your hand just falls on it to adjust volume.

I got my replacement and it was perfectly plug and play with my old Note 4 like it should be. Very pleased that I don't have to jump through any software hoops.

However, mine now has the crazy tight microusb holes. My first one was definitely snug, but I wasn't worried about cable damage. This new one requires a funky angle for entry and considerable force. I wouldn't anticipate my cable lasting too many more insertion cycles.

Darnit! Mine just came today and has the same issue. I can get it about 1/4 of the way in, and then it won't go in any further and it takes considerable effort to get it out. If I pushed any harder, something would break - either the connector in the F2, or the cable itself, either during insertion or when trying to remove it.

Guess I'll have to get it replaced because the port is unusable for me.

Otherwise, I love this thing - looks cool, is very functional, and is a tremendous value. I did notice a couple things I wanted to run by you guys as coming from onboard audio and using my headphones and monitors, I've not experienced this before so I wanted to see if it was normal or anything to worry about:

    1) Depending on if I'm statically charged, when I touch the Fulla 2 I can hear static/pops in whatever is connected to it, be it headphones or speakers.

    2) When I plug it into my PC via USB, and when my PC turns on and Windows loads, there is a double pop noise that goes into my headphones. The loudness is of the pops are directly related to how far clockwise the knob is turned. The pops have a decent volume at 10 o'clock and can get pretty darn loud depending on how far it's turned.

Also, when I first plug it into my PC's USB port, and then unminimize Spotify, there is a click noise. It's fainter than the pops though - but also related to the position of the knob.

Nope, the last one that was destroyed was actually power cable supplied with a second generation puck-shaped Chromecast. Shame, it was sturdy as hell too.

I would like to echo this as I have had the exact same experience. However, after waiting to get a Fulla 2 that works with my iDevices, I am willing to overlook that the crazy microUSB ports already broke a couple cables including my iFi iPower DC to microUSB adapter. It is frustrating HOWEVER it is a $100 product that sounds killer for the $$$. My overall experience with Schiit products is overwhelmingly positive and I realize I shouldn't expect every detail to be perfect.

EDIT: Schiit customer service is correct that the supplied cable works with these tight ports, however they should supply two cables so there isn't the struggle to get a power cable to work.

The original ones supplied, which had knackered electronics were "tight", and might possibly bollocks up cables after a few cycles. One of the replacements was the same (though with working electronics). The other one, however, was more fucked than any of the other three, requires consoiderable force to insert any cable into the power socket and will destroy any cable that you plug into it when you try to disconnect it. Like I say, there is a manufacturing variance/tolerances issue here. They probably need to jump on that before the news spreads from our little backwater onto the mainstream hysteria factory of Head-Fi (I'm certainly not intending to tip them off).

When I get home after Christmas, I will happily try one of the Schiit leads in there, though unless it's smaller than spec, will probably not survive more than a cycle or too either.

@Kattefjaes does the list of destroyed cables include the one that was provided with the Fulla? On my Fulla the PCB with the usb jack is mounted .5mm too high making it diffucult to insert and remove the micro usb cabe. I slightly loosened the crew on the bottom to fix this problem.

Thanks, will give that a try when I am back in the same city as the Fulla. I'm away ATM, so just took the Mojo with me instead, for simplictiy.

Ok, so you are a tech genius.
I loosened the screws and the USB micro slots moved down and now I can plug and unplug until my heart's content. This is an easy solution, big thanks to @JoshMorr

EDIT: I should add brief impressions with HD600 and TH-X00 are extremely positive. This device is a perfect starter place and an easy office or nightstand rec for all seasoned audiophiles on a budget!

I had the same problem. I loosened up the screws on the bottom of the Fulla 2, plugged the micro USB cable and jiggled it around to re-align the case/connector relationship. Agreed, we shouldn't have to be involved in post-purchase QA... such is the life of an early adopter :)

Is it just me, or does this picture make you want to run two Fulla 2's as mono blocks!

I'm tempted to do that with my magni. Already running it for speakers, tempted to get another to make monoblocks.

Still no good with my old devices and the replacement Fulla. After destroying a couple of cables, I tried loosening the screws on the bottom as suggested above and that fixed the USB port issue. Time for a refund.
