It's nice that it is probably just a design/assembly/QA issue that can be non-destructively fixed with a slight adjustment. I am looking forward to fixing my very fucked one when I get home. It's a really cool device when it's working. Hopefully Schiit can get on the case (pun not intended) and stop this issue re-occurring in the longer term.

As long as loosening the screws doesnt void the warranty...

I remember the Fulla 1 having issues with the USB port alignment. Loosening the screws, plugging in and then retightening fixed it.

I am using exclusively on iOS devices with latest version iOS 10. I am getting a very faint pop sound every so often when streaming Tidal. I am not adjusting volume or touching the Fulla 2, so I think I can rule out static charge issues. Anyone else experiencing similar popping sounds like this?

EDIT: further investigation of the inter webs reveals that the Apple CCK lighting to USB adapter is the source of the pops. FWIW, it now have the IFi ipower supplying the 5V and I only rarely hear a pop

Very interested, as I am looking for an inexpensive non-sabre dac to connect a Linux box to my integrated amp via 1/8 - RCA cable.
I know it has been mentioned somewhere in this thread, but in this case, I should use the fixed output to use Fulla as a DAC only right? Volume will be adjusted on the amp.

Yes, it has a fixed DAC out, run it into some line level in on the amp, probably with a decent quallity 3.5mm to twin RCA or the like.

Update on woes- now I am home, I took a screwdriver to my fucked-up Fulla 2. I realigned everything, tightened it all up. USB cables can now be plugged and unplugged without being destroyed- woo yay. I must admit to using a tiny bit of Deoxit D5 on the microUSB sockets too, which has made everything a bit smoother and easier. My Fulla 2 now behaves the way it was designed to do, and it's a surprisingly sweet device. Give it a pair of cheapish Massdrop HD6xx, and a lot of people would be satisfied.

(It arrived with a big scratch on the volume knob, too, but meh- doesn't harm it at all.)

Hello, confused a bit about the fixed DAC and variable output. I'm looking to feed music from my linux/windows box to a pair of LSR305 monitors.

I was hoping I could connect the linux/windows box to something that has volume control. I would set the volume levels on the monitors and not use them again. Insteadc controlling the volume with the device connected in between.

Can I connect the Fulla 2 to my computer using the micro-usb? Then connect the Fulla 2 to the monitors using 1/8 TRS to 2RCA and then control the volume coming out of the PC to the monitors using the wonderful looking volume knob?

Would the DAC also be in effect using the FULLA 2 in this fashion?

You're going to want to use the variable output from the Fulla to feed the LSR305's and then you'll be able to control the volume using the Fulla.

Just use a 3.5mm trs to dual rca cable from the variable out. Your use case is exactly what it is for.

Thank you, going to order one. Was confused about the fixed DAC and variable out. I thought they were exclusive.
So the signal will still run through the AKM (dac) chip, then to the LSR305s via the variable output connection.

So I get DAC benefit and volume control to the LSR305.

    *edit woops, AKM

All default outputs utilize the DAC (which is an AKM chip, not Sabre). Non-amplified fixed for using another amp that has its own volume control. Non-amplified variable for fixed volume amplifiers (or in your use case). Front 1/4" amplified for headphone use (additionally, the front can be used with an external DAC as well, but defaults to using the internal DAC).

So after listening over the past 2 weeks every night I think the Fulla 2 has a great synergy with the TH-X00. I tried HD-600 and HD-650KM and they do sound good but the TH-X00 really works better with all genres on the Fulla 2.

OK, so I might have found one of my favourite uses of this little device yet. I wanted a little audio streamer for a small system (with bookshelf speakers on stands, a powered sub and an integrated receiver). Obviously this was for non-critical listening, so anything too big/expensive was overkill.

It occurred to me that I have
    • A NAS full of FLACs
    • A Fulla 2
    • Some old Raspberry Pis
There's an obvious route here- stick MPD on the Pi, have it play the FLACs from the NAS over CIFS. Due to laziness, I stuck the "Volumio" MPD distro on the Raspberry Pi- which has a web interface for super-quick config of network drives, sound devices etc. I grabbed a copy of MPDroid for Android (which seems to be one of the better MPD remotes). I hooked it all up, and.. well, it worked pretty much instantly. I am using a 1000mA PSU for the Pi, so that it has a little extra juice to power the Fulla 2 itself. The Fulla 2 is connected to the receiver via the fixed level out, which works beautifully.

I was all set to install it all by hand (which isn't hard), but Volumio really is nicely polished, and it all took less than an hour start to finish, including time to find where I had hidden the short USB cables. My only criticism of Volumio is that you should probably change the default password, as it's SSHable and rootable out of the box.

Here's the MPDroid UI, it just looks like a fairly clean music player:

Oh, and just look how perfectly the Fulla 2 fits on the Pi:

It's very slick in setup and operation, and It sounds pretty good too, especially considering how much it didn't cost. Not a bad option if you want a quick and easy streamer that won't break the bank.

Very nice indeed, very close to what I intend to use myself (not a Pi though, but Ubuntu/ Kodi box).
Which receiver/ jack-RCA cable are you using?
I am still hesitating whether to get a Fulla 2, there is a brand new Meridian Explorer 2 for the same price I am looking at too, or go beyond budget a little and go for Modi Multibit...

    I'm just using:

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00SWYT7KU

Which is perfectly nice, and well-made.

Also, if you think you can stretch to the Modi Multibit without problems, and don't mind that it's not portable (needs to be left on), then go for it. It's a hell of a bargain.

    I beg to differ! :)

Anyways, thanks for the cable link. I was looking for something like this for my Modi Multibit...

Thanks, I have been trying to rationalize my DAC purchase given that 1) I do not have the time to listen to my 2ch much, 2) not sure it will make a huge difference with my AVR integrated DAC that sounds surprisingly good, but Modi Multibit really sounds impressive for the price and might well be my end-game DAC.

The Fulla 2 should arrive in two days.

If it exceeds my expectations (I bought it based on its specifications and features first) then more Schiit in the future.
