That’s why I was confused. Also just wanted to make sure we weren’t taking about some other Schiit Easter Egg...

WOW! so much in there ... the USB implementation being chicken shit vs chicken salad at 30m is going to light up forums I'd think (Jason didn't even believe at first so he hooked it up to an analyzer) ... but now I'm definitely waiting to hear more about this roadmap before I buy my next DAC, and I'd love to buy a Schiit transport! And the Schiit Pi for the processing power? Yummy!

The expander music processor sounds wicked. Imagine high DR anywhere!

It will certainly be interesting to see if Mike's project comes to fruition. On the one hand, it is not about faithfully reproducing the original recording and some will scoff at that. OTOH, if it sounds better to the listener, it could be argued that is really what matters.

Myself, I can see both the retuning and the DR expansion as being potentially worthwhile. I'm a little more skeptical about retiming specific parts of the music, but I would certainly be willing to give it a listen before I was to pass judgement. Even if not all of these features find their way into production, I'm sure they will put the added processing power of their Schiit Pi to good use.

Crazy amount of info in that video. I feel like they covered about 6 chapters (and 3 swear jars) in one go there!

I get that they don’t want to get into a streamer product because of all the UI and app/device compatibility headaches etc.

But wouldn’t it be possible to put out a product that has the Schiit Pi, with Ethernet in and the best output to their DACs (new in-house USB?), and then just let the end user install and maintain their own UI? Like some of the other RPi hat makers do (although I think many times they will preinstall your OS?) but with their own secret hardware/firmware Schiit sauce of course. They would just need to find a way to support the hardware/firmware, but not the software aspects of the product?

    Aside:
I need to get myself an RPi and start messing around with it, so I can understand it better. All I know about it are the bits and pieces I've read - have never set one up myself, but I’ve built, setup and maintained well over a hundred PCs of various types in my life, so I assume I can sort one of those out...

Anything Schiit makes needs to be plug-and-play. Even the coaster, which can accidentally be used as an amp.

Recently the Schiit guys went on record to say they will offer these sound-modifying features (including Loki EQ), but always retain a "defeat" button to disable the feature and revert to pure audio, thus giving the user the best of both worlds.

I’d like to remind everyone, this thread is also about McDonald’s. That said I ate two Filet-o-Fish for $5 while listening to my HD800’s with the Loki. A pretty good experience, especially with extra tartar sauce.

Also, Mike and Jason’s long term plans have some exciting prospects.

Protip: The McDonald's app frequently has a $1 any sandwich coupon, which can be used on the off-menu double filet-o-fish. All the tastiness of two filet-o-fish, but only the guilt of 2 slices of bread.

I can firmly say I haven't eaten any McDonald's food for at least a decade ... probably more. That said, the best McDonald's meal was the sausage mcmuffin w/egg, hashbrowns, OJ combo with the apple danish. Back in the 90s they knew how to do that shit right, then sometime in early 00s recipes or something changed, the danish evaporated, and it just wasn't the same.

    Great for bathrooms though.

Yeah I engaged in a schiit spree last night. Saga, modi 3, & Vidar (mostly gone now, popular). Im very intrigued by Aegir, but who tf knows when it will ship.

I had McDonald's today. Enjoyed this new burger they have, beef, bacon, cheese, crunchy onions, pickle, some yummy sauces, fancy bun. It was good. I didn't feel like garbage after, like when I buy a mcdouble.

Very interesting read, the bit that really caught my eye was the below quote:

"In theory, an Aegir should sound pretty much the same, whether it is operating within its 10 watts of Class A, or putting 100W into a 4 ohm speaker in mono."

Really looking forward to impressions on these!

Also to keep it on topic am I the only person that prefers Mcdonalds Chicken Select to KFC?

P.S. First post go easy :headbang:
