    Agent Smith was wrong. No mammal instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding environment willingly. It is enforced upon. It is not nice.

    EDIT: I consider man the current apex predator. The control imposed upon an apex predator is usually war. Which like any other control, is very scary.

    Sorry I haven’t chimed in on this excellent discussion, but I was negotiating with the Soylent Green factory to see what I’m worth. The manager suggested I wait about 12 years, when it will truly be too late to do anything. Other than let the planet reach equilibrium again.

    I need to cheer up. Think I’ll go read some of my Edgar Allan Poe collection.

    Everyone cheer up. 700 million years of complex multicellular organisms, and we think we have the power to take that out? It’s the other way around. Yeah, we have learned how to f**k things up better than any species before. But this system we are still very much a part of can take us out with no problem. And then keep moving on to the next thing. I’m just sorry I won’t be around to see the next step. We could be a part of it, but it seems we have decided to deal ourselves out of the game.

    Dreams are the poop of waking experience. Concrete forms are stripped away and rearranged in mumbo-jumbo that exhibits the same feelings, the tone colors, of waking experience. My third job is interpreting dreams for other people. My son had a terrible nightmare which was so vivid that he was able to capture it when he woke up. I didn't grasp how frightened he had to have been throughout the entire ordeal.

    We are in the Jeep stuck in traffic on a highway nestled against the mountains. This could either be the 101 bend where the off-ramp to Las Virgenes is to our house, or the 118 through Simi just north of the Santa Susanna Field Lab. Old photos of SSFL on the Boeing website reminded my son of the secret government facility in the film Shape of Water. A gigantic mutated cat-like creature (no doubt a product of nuclear experiments at SSFL) walks over the 101 - just as the fire jumped over it. El Lay news, utility, fire, police, and military helicopters loom overhead with their spotlights flashing different colors.
