Sold: Blackwood Auteur

Auteurs in blackwood with magnesium chassis, perforated Eikon lambskin pads, original lambskin strap, new suede strap, pelican case, and DIY silver XLR cable with 1/4" adapter and Norne cable bag. I love these headphones and they're in great shape. They have wonderful synergy with the Gungnir MB A2 and DNA Sonett 2(which I'll be listing soon). I don't really want to sell but we're already committed to relocating and the real estate market does not seem to be cooling off, need cash for a house more than toys.

I put a new metal strip from ZMF in the headband when I got them to have a fresh start, currently bent for a snug clamp on my head. I made the cable with this teflon insulated silver wire, Furutech mini XLR connectors, and terminated in a Neutrik 4 pin XLR. The adapter is the same wire with Neutrik connectors. It's about 8 1/2' - I'm aware no one really gives a shit about a DIY cable, just listing the details because it's what's included. I liked it more than the ZMF OFC, so I sold that with my previous pair of Auteurs and this is what I have left to include.

There's an imperfection in the wood on one of the cups, not from damage, just part of the wood, it's shown in the detail photo.

I bought these in 2019 from @Vtory (thread) for $1400 shipped. I haven't been following headphone prices much since then and don't know what a reasonable price is, but since I need the cash I'm going to ask for $1150 net to me shipped CONUS and I'll throw in a ZMF Salire stand in cherry if the buyer is interested. I'm offering it here first since I got it here, but will move it over to headfi if no one's interested in a week or so.

Excellent value for the most float-in-the-music ZMF headphones in my collection. I heartily recommend them for time-flies-by evening listening sessions. I enjoy mine with a range of amps: ecp DSHA-3F (nickel), EC Af, EC BW2.

 

These are posted on head-fi for more $$$ now, I'll still accept this price for SBAF friends/contributors.
