Sold: ECP Prototype Black Diamond/Walnut Stack (Green Acrylic)

A while back I met the original owner of this stack. At this time he had the BD, but had sold the Walnut proto to a person in Texas. He put me in touch with the woman and we were able to make a deal to bring them back together.

I have put them through their paces and while a great setup, I am ready to pass it on to the next so I can focus more on a couple of tube amp setups (SW51+ and Quicksilver HPA)

The BD has the power supply upgrade, but since it was a prototype it did not have the appropriate board mounting points and Doug used some epoxy to secure it in place. The photo shows the white epoxy holding the power supply board in place.

One other note is that Doug mentioned to me that the plastic housing could become brittle over time and their is no way to replace it. The casing is somewhat flexible on the connection sides, but in great condition.

I listing the pair for $1200 and would like to keep them together in the sale. This sale is for Friends only at the moment, but will be opened up to others at some point in the future.

This is a great sounding setup, with great clarity and detail retrieval.

Both of these items are wonderful. The amp is completely worth it and about the only thing worthy of kicking my Black Widow to the curb. Microdetail for days and incredibly smooth - very grain free for a SS amp. Very pure sound. Truly an incredible amp. And super unique as a prototype.

Walnut DAC I almost kind of liked over the newer version of the Walnut. One DAC where acoustic music sounds very correct and rich.

And don't let the brittle plexiglass scare you. As long as it sits there on a shelf or desk, it is fine. Just not to be manhandled.
