Sold - Metrum Flint NOS R2R dac

Excellent condition – One owner, non-smoking house

This is Metrum's entry level dac and sold $575 when new. It has optical and RCA coax digital inputs and RCA analog outputs. The switch on the top selects input and the red “error” light turns on when there isn't music coming in, even between songs.

The R2R NOS sound is different than other dacs. As @Hands says in his NOS Master List thread, some people like it, some don't. I bought the Flint new in order to decide if I liked the NOS sound or not. I did like it. Instruments and voices sounded natural and clean. The image seemed bigger with more room between instruments. And this was with Metrum's entry level dac.

I liked it better than the Schiit Gungnir A1(sold that). I compared it to a EC Designs MOS16 ($400) and preferred it over that. At that point, I started looking for better Metrum dacs. I am selling the Flint because I have acquired an Onyx and a Pavane and no longer need the Flint.

The last Flint that sold in the US was in April on US Audio Mart and listed for $395. I will sell this one to SBAF Friends and Contributors for $310 and throw in Paypal fees. You pay shipping.
