You know, the "Private sale, no guarantee or returns." always puts me off. I have an assumption that people selling here are doing so on the basis of the Bill and Ted precept, "be excellent to each other" and will have your back if there's a problem and that equally the buyer will try to behave in a reasonable manner.

By slapping terms and conditions down so baldly, you kill trust a bit.

It looks like he signed up here just to sell stuff. Ban him!

This is a common phrase you put under offers of private sales, at least here in Germany. It would be nice if you could inform yourself a little bit more next time, before considering bad intentions behind it.

It basically means the item can't be returned if you simply don't like it and that I described all the items faults, but can't be held responsible if it has fault I was not aware of. However even in that case I was open to find an agreement with the buyer in the past, even if I didn't have to (based on our law). For example I sold one of my old phones in the past, which had a bad bluetooth module. I wasn't aware, since I never used bluetooth. So I agreed with the buyer to do a partial refund, which was OK for both sides. So before posting after analyzing posts for their intentions, please make yourself familiar with each countries laws next time.

@winders Too much free time you need to spend spamming sales posts? In that case maybe it should be considered to ban you instead of me...don't you think?

@KarlStromberg I get that, but at the same time it does come off as somewhat off-putting because there's a fair chance that someone might encounter issues with the item shortly after receiving it despite making sure to use it with care. It has happened before, and while I think it nice that you'd go out of your way to help others beyond what's legally obligated of you, that's merely par for the course as far as local forum culture goes. Were I to sell anything on here, I'd probably offer at least a week's guarantee because most of the people I'd be willing to sell to would be people I know wouldn't make false claims just to f**k me over.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that you need to be assimilated by the Borg before anyone takes you seriously around here, but I suppose that might be the case for some :p

^ Jibes about banning aside, and winders might have been put into time out a few times before, this comes off as needlessly punitive. While I agree that winders might have been a bit more polite about it (hahahahaha), I also think it'd have been nice to hear more from you about your gear and the like. It may be that some are approaching this listing with caution on account of few people here really knowing you, thus giving them less reason to take you at your word. No idea if this is as spectacular a deal on the HA-2 as forum frequents might have grown accustomed to, intuition says not really, so that might be another factor.

Agree totally with winders -k/S is offering the item for sale across Europe, not just Germany. If he only wants to deal in the German way then he should just offer for sale in Germany. Shipping is free to buyers in Germany but auslanders must pay, that's fine if the cost of postage in Germany is deducted from the cost of posting abroad.

As to the terms of sale, agree totally with winders. I'm looking to buy a s/hand ART 9 MC cartridge. At the moment there are two possible - one from an Aussie (100 hours) who has 289 100% positives and another from Portugal (60 hours) 1 buy positive, recently joined Ebay. He states absolutely no guarantee,no returns as the item is delicate. I bought an AT 33EV via a friend in the USA. The 33EV is packed exactly like the ART 9 and it's impossible for the cartridge to come loose or get damaged. If soomeone jumps up and down on the package there is a good chance of damage , which is where insurance comes into play.

I asked him to provide a declaration of the stylus condition and the cartridge in general and better still an actual magnified photo of the stylus. He responded by showing a record being played - completely useless Guess which ART 9 I'm interested in and which not.

No surprise on the ART 9 from Portugal -on Ebay, it didn't sell, no one was mug enough to risk £599/$760. I wonder where the seller will try his luck now. As always - Caveat Emptor/buyer beware.
