    Anyone heard this?

This thing is a pure class A 80w per channel with a biasing volume control to save power compared to normal class A. 4 RCA in and 1 Balanced in.

It has a discrete headphone amp section as well with switchable impedance.

The kicker? can be had for around $1500. Anyone who knows class A amps with 80w of output is a killer price.

Here is a review for anyone interested:

I've seen it as low as $800-900 second hand. I've lusted hard after one but decided against it due to financial constraints. I've read that the sound at low volumes is equally as superb as higher volumes (pretty cool IMO).

    Points to consider:

Only one set of speaker outs, that will limit subwoofer connectivity
    No line out/loop out
If you use a pre-amp in front of it the class A trickery of the volume knob is going to make it interesting
Some reviews say they are great for the money

They're even less now somehow. I recently passed on sniping one for about $700: http://m.ebay.com/itm/131769074673

I've been pretty interested too but the Yamaha A-S2100 seems to be a more consistent bet. The tech in the A1ES is really cool though.
