Probably just one painting cost more than the room and all audio gear together...

The owner does not only like big size speakers the painting probably has several times the original‘s size

More Apogee madness, notice the two transformers to up the impedance of the tweeter and midrange from 0.14 ohms to 4 ohms if the owner decides to change them from passive to active and tri-amplify, the bass panels are 1.8 ohms if driven directly...lovely

Special request from @Thad E Ginathom . Also for @Serious since he seems to like gigantic woofers.

Here is a pair of 31" Fostex FW800Hs woofers. Available at Madisound for $3300.

Glad to know these exist even if I will never have enough house for them.

Geez, I'd like to have enough space for something like this at home. Damn!

Those are decorative coverings for room treatments hopefully (and almost all of the “old masters” type paintings are way smaller than you’d probably expect). There’s no hope for that wood floor though.

Haven't seen too many single driver full range speakers. Here are some Nagaoka builds. Flamingos, Swans and Super Swans

It looks to me that only really impressive feature of those is the sheer size.
Efficiency, TS parameters and actual usability are not that impressive.
It would be quite something for OB or IB use though.
It's a heavy-heavy cone on a relatively weak motor (look at electrical Q, magnet is weaker than on many 15'' woofers),
for the reason that such a large ''umbrella'' would not start bending; apparently impedance graph has no trouble spots.
I can think of at least a few 18'' examples that will surpass it in most things and be fraction of the price and size.

    Wonderful, thank you!

    Me too

Yes to the space, yes to the speakers

Well, this is a porn thread, so sometimes we can settle for pictures of stuff that just looks damned good, even if we do not want to actually live or even sleep with it.

(apologies for the sexist objectification, albeit metaphorical)

Yeah, looking at the datasheet it drops off at 50Hz. I would want something this size to go far lower.

Still, extremely curious what something like this sounds like. I wonder if this is the Fostex version of the Concorde or the HE1, they just make it because they can.

Yes and in such application it'd be probably very respectable. There's no real substitute for inches at work. Big woofer in OB = big and effortless sound. Some people like it a lot.

Just saw and instantly bought this new desktop version of the jamo 909 without research of any kind. I've always wanted the 909 but this I can afford.:

Jamo 907 and 909 were awesome for an OB design. And this desktop puppy looks gorgeous too. It brings back memories!
