This studio is legit. Brad Pitt and Damien Quintard restored/refurbished Miraval Studios (past credits in screenshot below) in France.

“One of the studio's first additions will be a console with hybrid analog and digital capabilities, a Dolby Atmos system, and all the technology needed to pre-mix for film and television projects. Recording booths and workstations for sound and video editing will also be included.”

Impressive facilities, but the real porn in the article was this:
"Lunch prepared by Miraval’s private chef using ingredients farmed on-site."

Ahh. You know what? I forget that there are more than two channels in the world! That might sound stupid (it is anyway), but I have never been a cinema goer.

I had heard, years ago, that top recording studios needed to sport certain speakers that clients would recognise. That was their purpose, rather than being useful in the production process. Maybe it was true; maybe it was not true.

Well the number of them is needed for Dolby Atmos certification.

I don't think that existed when I heard this: it was years ago

IT's not that much of a surprise if it's true. Some high-profile bands tend to heavily impact final mixes anyway and probalby have some reference points of their own, while studios work for them.

Rather, those KEFs look like Boenicke speakers ;)

But the talk about firsties aside, the principle seems to be the same; one wideband driver in assistance of side-firing woofers inside a narrow sleek enclosure. KEFs look great if someone asks me. Wasn't a hughe fan of LS50 (a bit chunky this one), but their floorstanding version works well for my eyes :)

Looks like some kind of far future experiment where they thaw out a guy frozen in the 90s.

One tree, right? Epic. But does all that concentric wordwork really serve an acoustic purpose?

These are Ferguson Hill speakers for anyone curious:

I nearly bought their desktop system years and years ago (mostly just curiosity based on the looks).

    Anyone encountered Hedlund Horn speakers?

I'd give them highish marks for pornography, and in this case, probably a lot of porn for the price. I came to know of them through a pair for sale on a local Indian hifi forum, currently on offer at INR75,000, around US$900.

This pair have "single full range driver Fostex FE206En"

No, I am not buying. Even if I was in the market for a pair of full-size speakers, my house is not big enough for these!

But they sure are, erm... cute!

$100 per oz of speaker (31lbs each, 50k per individual speaker). Ie. More expensive per ounce than the best cuts of meat in the world, but I doubt they taste as good :poop:

Why have they got legs? Do they do auto repositioning?

That would be neat. Until they trampled the toddler, detailed the dog, and pushed the elderly mother-in-law to the ground.
