Im looking to just see what kind of money I need to spend to upgrade my speakers, and ideas on what to get.

Right now, I have the Omega Mini Me's. Cant find much info about them. I like them pretty well, but their 3.5" fullrange driver lacks some of the bass. I have a subwoofer, but there is still a gap, and my subwoofer is no good.

What kind of money would I need to spend to not just side grade, and any ideas on what to get? Im interested in trying anything, some of the more exotic speaker methods are cool though.

Oh, and they should not be too big, they are for near feild listening

    Thanks

Have you tried more conventional 2-way studio monitors? Some of those are not expensive and you could compare what you get from either and decide where you want to go next.

Not really, just my cheap polk r15's.
Havent used any high end 2 ways. They can be passive, as I have an amp, studio monitors are usualy active.

KEF LS50s are really good. But you will pay a little more for the performance improvement.

You could also try a classic DIY approach afforded by the Overnight Sensations.

I preferred my Overnight Sensations over the Kef LS50s. It depends on what you're looking for. The OSMT will be smaller and they produce some pretty good bass for their size, especially in a smaller room. They have perfect tonality imo, especially if you like the hd600/650. They also scale like crazy up to the Yggdrasil and the Odyssey Stratos. The Kef LS50 will be better in technicalities but they are more expensive, bigger, and have tonality problems.

Either solution will probably integrate well with a sub-woofer, possibly w/o that gap you were referring too.

Some folks might prefer the OSMT to the LS50. Some might prefer the LS50 to the OSMT. The OSMT is more affordable and there is fun in building your own set of speakers. I love the performance, elegance, and the professional finish of an LS50. An LS50 IMO is definitively not shit.

But the ls50 is 1500, and the overnight Sensations are 150.
Is there anything, possibly diy in between that's good, say $200-$300?

    Great, thanks.

Now, Im about to get a pair of Yamaha 54115H for $50, because they were so cheap. Anything I can do with the 15" woofers or compression drivers?

Thinking more, not sure I'll be able to part with the Omega's for now. They are just so beautiful and well made. I think I'll wait until I can get something with that level of build quality and looks.

The KEF Q100 would be a substantial upgrade over those Omega Mini Mes, except for in looks. At the price I much prefer the Revel M105 to the KEF LS50. The Q100 is better than anything I've heard around its price, with the caveat that I've not heard the new 3-way concentric driver Andrew Jones Elacs.

As for kits, one I've heard last year that surprised me with its spacious sound and even spectral balance was this one:
    http://www.diysoundgroup.com/waveguide-speaker-kits/fusion-4.html

The person was using them as surrounds for big speakers with more expensive drivers by the same designer, but I asked to hear them up front in stereo and found the little things to have a musicality to them that the big towers did not.

Now how do the Klipsch RB-61 II compare, I found a pair used for $200.
They seem like they are pretty good, but not sure.

The few times I've heard Klipsch products @ Fry's (similar to the RB-61s) I've found them a little U-shaped. But conditions where obviously not optimal for critical listening.

There is no replacement to giving stuff a try. Those Klipsch should be relatively accessible. Proly available from Best Buy even, if you want to give them a listen.
