Klipsch in general are not bad IMO. But it may or may not be your cup of tea. I personally prefer a more laid back signature.

Things also change over time. I used to think the entry level Polks were not that bad. I mean, I felt they were bright, but I could stand them. I can't stand them anymore. And not because I consider myself golden eared or a snob or so. I actually prefer certain cheapo desktop computer speakers to the entry level Polk monitors.

I might need to just get another pair of omegas. The cabinet design and build is just immaculate, all hand built by a guy in Connecticut.
The Super 3 desktop are $595, I could probably save up for thoes....

They say that with a 2 way driver there is a smearing of the sound....with the omega , one way speaker, there is no smearing, only a 3d soundstage....i think they are probably right if they say that, BUT i put sorbothane around my 2 way drivers (Mission V60) and now guess what? no more smearing of the sound , only a soundstage with a 3 d imaging....My mission used cost way less...the rendering of the timbre is natural... and they are great with bass ;)

If you want to upgrade, dont pay too much, inform yourself, buy the speakers used...and read about sorbothane...Your omega were sold the same price that my Mission were sold in 2001...i pay them 75 dollars used, i enjoy them at the fullest with zero regret or desire to upgrade by insatisfaction... the reason is not the purchase of the Mission speakers per se, they are good speakers, but they are other good one , the reason is the use of sorbothane to get them to their fullest potential, the same will be true with other good speakers....Buy good one used and read about sorbothane...Room treatment is a most after that....this is my advice... my very best to you...

I'll try it, but I can't imagine it working the wonders you say it does.

So, you added extra mass loading on the drivers of your entry level 2-way speaker. And therefore 2-ways smear sound and mass loading every speaker will yield improvement?

Why not start with finding out what was wrong with your Mission speakers, what got fixed and if it's a problem with higher quality speakers.

they are nothing wrong with the Mission , they are excellent for their price according to all reviews...i only say 2 things : ALL gear with an internal enclosure and electronics topology VIBRATE, and secundo the sorb is the solution for me for ALL ny piece of audio from the power conditioner to the headphone, speakers included....

There is a degrees continuum of the smearing sound emanating from any speakers, sorb. remedy some of that with great success...

Vandersteen 1's are always a great option. I listen to my Treo's and soon to be Quatro's in a near field position as I have a smaller room. Just outstanding speakers that are time and phase correct so you don't have that smearing that will often leave out subtle details in the music, plus it's fuller range compared to any monitor. Just another great option.

How do you plan to set these up? Nearfield on a desktop or further away?

You can score a really good deal on refurbished EVE SC205's for 50% off. Stil covered by warranty and since its pro gear, probably goes for 3 years.

They are way better than adam a5xs. I have Eve SC204s with a TS107 sub and they are fabulous and scale really well with anything. No siblance, but first rate detail and imaging.

The XRS line is something else entirely. Louis Chochos' line actually has more midrange magic when the drivers are smaller though, but when you go up the range what you trade for in musicality you get back in technicalities (plankton, extension, control, et al) in heaps.
