Is there such a headphone that is Focal Clear but with Beyerdynamic's soundstage?

Not in my experience. If you want a wide and deep soundstage go for HD800 or HD800S. Try to audition before you buy unless you are buying used.

Hey all, I finally settled on Hifiman Ananda as the headphone I plan to keep for a long time. I use a Pavane Level 3 as my DAC but looking to solidify down my Amp. I would prefer balanced in but don't care about SE/Balanced out. I use a Massdrop Liquid Carbon X but looking to explore around, keep it under $2k, pref under $1k. For purely asthetics I want the Woo WA7 Fireflies, but looking for a good recommendation. And anything that's a fit for HEX v2 would be a fit for Ananda

I don't think I would like the "details" of these cans (I haven't heard them but it seems like it is the same elevated treble detail illusion), I like my current Beyerdynamic Amiron Home very much, except (a big except :() for the recessed mids and mount Beyer.

For the Cavalli MCTH, does anyone know if you can use an adapter and use the: General Electric (GE) 5654. I don't want to blow it up.

Might not hurt it, but probably not the best. See https://www.superbestaudiofriends.o...alli-tube-hybrid-amp.4866/page-39#post-208784, where Alex Cavalli is quoted as saying the MCTH plate voltage (Va) is c. 100V. According to TDSL, 5654 is specified for 180V Va. So the voltage the amp provides might be too low for the tube to perform properly.

What case do you use for your headphone? I'm looking for one for my HD800 and the other one for a HE5LE. Thanks!

Thanks!! You or anyone else have recommendations for potential tube amps I could try? Looking to experiment around a bit.

Side note any thoughts on WA7 from anyone?

Setting up my first office rig and need some advice. There are a couple of fixed pieces in the equation that I need to build around as I'm moving my HD650 and Jot out of my home system. At this point, I'm working with my laptop and wondering what DAC I should be looking at as well as any other doohickies that are part of a chain like this. I'm also really hoping to go balanced. Budget is not as much a factor as footprint. Hoping for a DAC of comparable size to the Jot but maybe that nixes the XLR possibility? Something the size of Gungnir Multibit isn't going to work (I've also got the Yggdrasil A2 at home and would be interested in trying a non-Schiit DAC option with the Jot if there's something out there).

I'm mostly going to use it for jazz, drone, ambient techno ... something that does atmosphere well and digs reasonably deep on both ends of the frequency spectrum. Any thoughts on what would play nice with the Jot and HD650 with a modest footprint? Thanks!

Looking for best solution $50 or less to go out from my SE DAC to two separate amps without having to fool around with plugging and unplugging cables.

I used the Saga for that, and it worked very well.

I used a Schiit SYS in reverse for this. I liked it better than Y cables because only one is active at a time. Just leave the volume knob turned up and it will work just fine.

Bingo. Did this for a while. Eventually went total overkill to a Freya in passive mode as I needed a (wanted a) “better” attenuator, and it stacks just perfectly, tubes out, with a Gungnir Multibit on top... seriously, Sys should work perfectly.

I have a friend whose been out with a bad back for weeks. Music really helps with the pain. Unfortunately his IEM’s died. Any suggestions as to replacement under $35? Something on Amazon would be best as he needs them right away. Thanks. His last pair was a Skullcandy I think.

Yeah they need to be IEM’s. I’ve suggested PortaPro’s but he needs isolation. I’m asking everyone as I don’t use IEM’s. He is a long time friend, 30+ years, and a great person. Best school counselor I’ve ever seen. Just want to help with his bad back pain. He’s also a Vietnam chopper pilot who was shot down. Anything you guys can suggest is really appreciated.

I’ll get him some comply tips if needed.
