In my childhood, I remember some weird stuff called Waterglass being available, and I remember my mother explaining to me that it was used to preserve eggs.

    Waterglass for preserving eggs

Yeah we used to get eggs from a local rancher that didn't wash off the natural protective coating from the eggshells, and they lasted a good long time. He just rinsed them.

When you have mass production and distribution you have to worry about cross contamination, so those have been cleaned and need to be kept refrigerated.

I guess mineral oil somewhat replaces the washed-off natural coating.

On the TP side, we've been getting a case at a time from Amazon subscribe-and-save (all our paper products, really), and haven't noticed a supply problem there. I'll see on April 9th.

Sure sounds like the milder set of symptoms. Hopefully you can just count yourself lucky that your immune system has the drop on CV now :punk:.

I don't think CV is one of those diseases where you build immunity. Maybe. Hopefully.

From some reports I've seen, a doctor in China is warning about previously-recovered patients becoming reinfected.

My wife seems to have found some information that those with type-A blood suffer the worst symptoms, and those with type-O the least.

Yeah i hope i'm done with it now, surely feel relieved :)
I like to think my life choices have made a positive effect on this. Low carb, no smoking, no drinking(addictive personality) and working out a lot.
Well they did find antibodies and at least my government is talking about building up group immunity in stages through isolation. Over here they also want blood of cured people to test for group immunity.

TRUTH. Fun fact: White People in general are too scared to go into ethic food shops. I keep telling my GF she can go into the Indo Groceries mart just fine and get fresher produce for cheaper. She is like nah because she won't fit in. She goes to Wal-Mart.

My coworkers up in Portland, Maine area were LOLing. This Mexican Food Mart made a FB post saying we still have tons of stock of things that you need for the Portland, Maine area. Of course they don't get too many customer's since the state is very white, and these white folks don't normally go into these weird ethic name food places. I LOL so hard because that area of Maine is very left-wing "accepting of all types." Of course they will go to Hannafords, Shaws, the Wal-Marts but not the Halal shops or the Asian shops or the Spanish shops. @purr1n knows.

    In the US.

In the EU the opposite is true, that kind of washing is not allowed because the increased risk of contamination from removing the protective layer is considered to outweigh the benefits.

US eggs are legally unsafe for consumption in the EU and vice-versa.

I bought a huge bag of basmati rice (I always buy big bags) at the local Indian joint. The Ranch 99 Asian supermarket had almost everything in stock. They were short on baby bok choy and some brands of frozen dumpings, but plenty of meat and fish. I bought some trotters to make paya - yum yum melted connective tissue.

Well, seeing how mad some beachfront upstate New Yorkers are at the Manhattan New Yorkers retreating to their vacation homes, stocking up on ammo and MREs wouldn't seem like a bad idea. Things are getting precarious in NY state. I still don't get the toilet paper thing.

Too bad owning a gun in NY is a BITCH. If you legally own a gun on New York State property, but you don't have a license for the same gun in NYC, you can get arrested. So you can arrested if you take that gun that you legally own in New York State and transport it through NYC if you don't have a NYC license. I know they are relaxing the laws due to the SCOTUS case. It was long overdue and borderline crazy.

Then you can go to the ghetto and get all the guns you want for a good price. I remember those days.

bags is ok: ours comes in bags.

But hey, you triggered me on milk packaging. I am now a post-traumatic-stress jelly, melting onto the floor because... I remembered milk in tetrapacks. The original tetrapacks where you had to push the wings back.

    AAAaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrghflmp.

Milk in bags is a "down east thing" in Canada. Plastic jugs here FTW :headbang:
