    MMMMMM plastic jugs..

I was wondering this today when pouring a little organic creamer into my coffee. The container is like a carton, the ones we uses to open by peeling apart the 2 layer into a corner spout or whatever. Now we have these holes with a small cover we pour from.. but the container itself is still the same shape. so weird. life is weird I have a gallon and half gallon in plastic jugs though. Sometimes I still try to open these the "old" way lol

Plastic jugs for 4l (approx 1 gal), cartons for smaller volumes.

Sighs of relief here in BC today - the provincial govt's classification of 'essential' services includes liquor & cannabis production & retailing. While humans can do without food for relatively long periods, we're dead within days when denied liquids.

Here's a nice, heart-warming story about people acknowledging healthcare specialists, grocery store staff, and other frontline workers, and expressing their gratitude to them.

It's not. The effects actually get worse if you catch it more than once. As in, the sac around your heart fills with liquid and causes a heart attack. That said, it effects the older crowd worse.

Also, the blood type thing is probably bullshit. Last month, they were saying white people were straight up immune to it or some shit due to a protein in the kidney.

A lot of people have forgotten that this virus comes from the same family as the common cold. It's just as contagious (if not more so,) it riddles men infertile and give heart attacks, and permanently destroys lungs in some people. Or, it can be so mild you don't even know you have it.

Then you got medication normally reserved for treating AIDS somehow treating it...or not. Who knows, there's so much contradictory stuff on that. The only thing that's been sorta-proven to work is the Malaria medications...which is batshit insane if you think about it. At that point, you have to decide whether the treatment is worse than the cure. If you don't know what I mean...Malaria medication's side effects include blindness and deafness.

Meanwhile, China can't decide where the virus came from, Canada and Italy learn they have martial law in common, the US forgets what the constitution is, and NK is the only country somehow weathering this storm.

We'll all forget this by next year, but it is getting both terrifying and hilarious as time goes on.

When CO. Gov. Polis announced the statewide "stay at home" edict, I must have missed that part about chicken as a prophylactic for Covid-19. And just when things were getting back to normal at the stores. :(

My girlfriend works at Dunkin Donuts and she got a letter saying she's essential. Stay at home order in effect in NH tomorrow night ... Does not compute... How are coffee shops and liquor stores essential... What's the point if they are forcing people to work haha

Gamestop tried saying that they were essential. They kept up the charade until they got their Animal Crossing and Doom Eternal sales...then promptly said they were going to stay open. :/

Keeping restaurants open for to-go orders takes some pressure off the grocers. Restaurants also have their own food supply chain and if that collapses entirely, things are really fucked.

Sorry, the answer will be even more confusing. 250ml and 500ml milk products here all come in cartons. 1 liter of milk (skim, 1%, 2%, whole, etc) comes in cartons, except for flavored milk (chocolate, strawberry, etc) which comes in plastic. 2 liters of all types can be cartons or plastic jugs depending on the producer. 4 liters are all plastic jugs.

    Hope that makes sense! :)

The liberals are scared of the other. The Russian and Turkish supermarkets near me still have stock of good stuff and their customers are almost all paler than the average redneck. The Bengali market has almost everything. I have to hunt for milk but I’m eating sheep, goat, and stinky French cheese off of black bread with Irish tea. The Lipton and Folgers were long gone but the Latino espresso and Irish tea remained. The Irish used to be considered monkey people.

I do understand all that, however all the local news stations and officials say one thing and then we are told to do the other. I don't do social media whatsoever so I'm not in a state of Hysteria over things. A lot of people around here seem to be. I can't say that I am not nervous about being out right now and even more that my girlfriend is being put at risk. especially as something as non essential as a cup of coffee. We both have gone no where but work for 3 weeks besides a couple trips to the grocery. None of it is making much sense to me, I guess we have to accept it really always is about the almighty dollar.

Oh and btw for all you CCP apologists, China didn’t count asymptomatic people who tested positive and didn’t include any estimates of all the people who got a minor illness and said f**k it and stayed inside.

Oh and Chifi still sucks. The Chinese electronic audio gear that is as good as western made gear is actually more expensive due to supply chain issues with legitimate electrical parts and the importation markup. Sorry losers, Chinese sellout UAD and Focusrite are cost reduced turds.

Yeah, its the same here. One day there is no TP, but lots of bread and eggs. Another day there is TP, but no eggs or bread. Sometimes there is no chicken, or beef or paper towels, or milk, or bleach, or ibuprofen, or cat litter. It's like every day has "shortages of the day."

It's the new normal, all you can do is monitor your own inventory at home and strategize each shopping trip to keep it all topped up when it is available.

Dumbass hippies want to eat granola, an oatmeal cookie in a bowl, and tofu, the most bland substance this side of wonder bread. They couldn’t handle my full breakfasts with greasy fried eggs, real bacon, three different kinds of sausage made from the parts of the animal the WASPs won’t eat, beans, and tea so strong it could dissolve the chrome off of auto parts. Then for dinner, I have all different kinds of stinky rice dishes. Lunch? Black bread with cheese so stinky that it could attract wild animals and Turkish or sour milk yogurt for protein.

You sir, eat like your taste in music. I can respect that.
    Do you eat liver?
If anyone is looking for a boost liver has the highest amount of bio-available vitamins and minerals of any food.

FWIW - went to a grocery store around lunch time today. 90% of things in stock including meats, eggs, dairy, and most canned goods (I couldn't find chickpeas). Store enforced social distancing inside, especially at check out lines. Some employees were wearing masks (unfortunately "some" implies to me it was their own masks). Most things I noticed out of stock were "extra options" type stuff - ex instead of having 5 different ketchup, pickles, or say to choose from, there were only 3 or 4, etc. Things were being restocked but very minimally which makes me think the panic has slowed down.

Makes me wonder - is the "mental game / panic" is the only reason everyone is stocking up? If so, how much of everything else getting messed up is due to said "mental panic" only? Of course, I realize that the economy will take a hit regardless with people sitting at home all day etc but aside from this.

Liver is good but Vietnamese clean out the good pate here. There will be one Vietnamese guy with a shopping cart filled with the best bang for buck pate, decent bread, and booze at every Trader Joe’s, anyplace with a large selection of European goods, and Viet super market. On holidays or in a hoarding crisis, you have to chase the trucks to beat them. If you work, there’s no way in hell you’re going to beat a 70 year old retired Vietnamese guy to the pate.
