    Thanks @Garns
    I think I was reading the same thread.

    Gotta love audiophilia.

    Maple shade Isoblocks are $24.00 for 4
    [IMG]

    They look awfully similar to the 29cent pads I linked to in the first post. Maybe the Isoblocks are twice as think, but for 58 cents you can just stack two of the HVAC pads. Sheesh.

    I think I'm gonna try 4 cork HVAC pads, a piece of 12"x8" wood, then 4 EVA (the blue pads above) under the crack. I have all that stuff, so cost is nothing. I'll post pics.

    I might try some simple o-rings on a microphonic 6080 and see if makes a difference.

    Thanks. I'm using a 6080WA for power and a 12AU7 for input.

    OK, the other thread seems to be for speaker vibration reduction. I'll rename this thread specifically for tubes.

    I don't know about fact, @Madaboutaudio
    Audio is all about how it feels, like American politics now-a-days :)

    The time delay chart is pretty interesting. Audio vibrations from the sound itself are happening pretty fast, so the ability to respond quicker seems relevant.

    Here's what I just set up and about to try. If it works well, I'll pretty up that piece of wood.

    I think I have rings for the 12A*7, but it's probably the 6080 that you need. If you want one for the 12AU7, I can dig one up and send it though.

    Speaking of feel... Wonder who's the Donald Trump equivalent in Audiofoolery? Is it Steve Guttenberg?(he did declare CD format isn't dead) http://www.cnet.com/audiophiliac/

    @AllanMarcus
    I think your setup is too spongy(think of a car with too soft suspension, wobbling), maybe it needs some rigidity in form of maple wood block or bamboo block or some spikes as coupler. Isolating equipment is audiophile black arts.. so try out what mix and match works for you.

    I called Gutenberg on liking everything, and he responded that he doesn't review stuff he doesn't like. I guess that says something.

    I guess I need to go to hogwarts and start reading up on isolation. The isolation pads I'm using are pretty stiff, so there's no actual give when I push down on the crack. If that's what you mean.

    @AllanMarcus

    I am refering to bending movement of "D" and "Y" in the below diagram, not sure what's the term for D&Y but it's about the (micro wobble)movement of your middle corkwood platform, maybe should experiment with a stiffer platform:

    Best analogy I can think of: a rigid car frame with soft suspension vs a wobbly car frame with soft suspension

    This is a good read:

    Thanks for the info and article

    And my platform is plenty stiff, thank you very much! :)

    Actually, that is MDF board, so it's pretty stiff. It's not very pretty, so I will swap it out with something better looking. I was actually looking at some nice bamboo cutting boards.

    Didn't know you can make it like this:

    This is interesting DIY method to test/measure vibration resistance of your setup, maybe we can substitute the motor with USB fan.

    Neil Young and his porno player. But there must be many, many others.

    And this area, things that support other things, would probably be a good place to start looking.

    For 12 dollars i had bought 2 granite plate, and with an another 12 dollars put some sorbothane duro 70 in between( if the gear is under 40 pounds it is better to add some load on the sorbothane) the results on my amplifier Sansui and speakers are SPECTACULAR... I put also sorbothane glued around the woofer and tweeter... the results are not isolation only, but absorption of negative resonance and a massive upgrade in the imaging etc...

    So which is better for the board, a 5 pound 12x8 marble cutting board, or a 2 pound 12x8 bamboo cutting board?
