Toto Washlet/bidet defeats the toilet paper/paper towel hoarders of America

Got my highly rated by Amazon add-on bidet today. Install was simple, shoots water at me when I test. Have not checked actual functionality yet, going to wait till it is necessary. That portable thing looks sketchy. I hope I won't ever need one of those.

 

Works like a dream.

 

I prefer hand bidets so you can control where the water goes better and they're way cheaper. That thing is cool. Basically a portable hand bidet. so your bum is always clean! No more wiping off shit with paper. eeew

 

Ordered a non-electric starter bidet. There isnt an electric outlet and its an apartment...

Brondell SS-150W : cheap, self-clean nozzle, slightly simpler install, and cold!

 

If we all had self-clean nozzles, we wouldn't need bidets.

Very similar to the one I bought. After a couple uses I can now understand the appeal of these devices. The room temperature water is not as objectionable as I thought it might be. Indeed I'm hard pressed to think of any killer options an electric one would add besides warmer water. I do have an outlet handy so I may upgrade, but for now I'm just going to get used to this being the new regular routine. Initial review is favorable.

As an aside, when I remodeled my bathroom a couple years ago I installed a water saving toilet, and had come to hate it. Clogs way too easily if you use too much TP. I was actually planning to switch it back to a regular toilet again, but now I may not have to...

 

Heated seat. So luxurious and I've become spoiled. When I'm in the chilly air conditioned bathroom at work, I have to brace myself as I lower myself down.

 

I was going to say the same thing. I'm spoiled too, turn on the heater a few minutes before I sit during the winter.

Install was easy, no difficult issues, 20min gingerly. I only used teflon tape on the metal to metal connections. Not sure I needed for plastic to metal. I left a bowl there so I can catch any leaks but so far so good. I didnt have a wrench so used some teethed pliars. Ill order a Knipex now because Ill probably get another one of these bidets for the second bathroom.

I thought it would take some adjustment but it was right on the money first try. Im glad I turned the handle to open slowly because it could've been unpleasant (or pleasant). There is not a button but a handle: turn in one direction to adjust pressure and turn the opposite direction to self-clean nozzle. Its easy to access the nozzle to clean manually periodically or to completely remove for more thorough cleaning.

Costco has the Brondell Swash CS1000 on sale for $350. We bought one several years ago. Then immediately got two more.
This thing is great.

All the features have multiple settings so you can adjust it to your preferences.

So after a few weeks with the basic Amazon sourced add-on bidet, I get it. Not sure why these are not typical everywhere in the world. My savings in TP will pay for the cheap one quickly. Already researching the best value for electric ones.
