After 19 weeks of waiting, my AVC (autoformer volume control) is finally in Donald's hands:

It's awaiting to be delivered and put into it's chassis. Most likely to be motorized!

Quite sexy! Is it a 4 way because it's for a balanced connection? Also I thought motorized knobs were only for continuous controls, stepped knobs seems like it could be a problem.

Yup, 4 channel for balanced. Still looking to the Elma Remote Audio Plus to see if it will work. Seems so but might require a different drive shaft linkage.

Guessing this was ordered through Donald North Audio?

Shame that Pieter doesn't sell direct to users any longer. Would like to buy one of these.

Still waiting on the chassis to be milled: DSC_0193.JPG

Sounds fantastic. Everything gets out of the way, more dynamics, and resolution. Didn't think the HE-6 had more resolution to offer but it did.

Here it is all done! Sound slightly better than my audio-gd Master-1 preamp. There is more transparency with better dynamics.

Thanks n3rdling to helping me with the casework!

Very nice. This is the way to do it. Glad you got rid of that AGD Masterbator 1. Now I'm really looking forward to hearing it now.

    That's no excuse .

We can see from the picture that it sounds all fuzzy, anyway!

I don't blame him. You have no idea how little wiring I've twisted at EC, and I hate it.

Use a drill or motorized screw driver to do it for you :D

Yuck, that'll induce all sorts of residual stresses into the wire.
