    Hi,

Has anyone been delighted with a particular upgrade cable for the AKG K812 headphones?

I've enjoyed the K812s for a couple of years with an Atlas Zeno cable, which has been wonderful. However, despite me treating the cable with the utmost care, it has started to fail, apparently due to being too weak to handle light bending in normal home use.

I have reverted to the original 3m AKG cable but the sound quality through it is comparatively so poor that I end up preferring my cheap ATH M50x headphones!

A quick search online reveals these possibilities:

£60 Designacable Belden Star-Quad cable + Neutrik jack

    £83 Oido Pellucid-PLUS Series cable

I don't know how they compare. I've had good results with Designacable's instrument leads, so I'd be tempted to go with their cable. Any thoughts?
