Yeah, I get that. What I'm saying is that, doesn't it make more sense to buy new from Schiit for the warranty? I mean if it was discounted by 30% or something like that, then it might make more sense to forgo the warranty.

The used market in this hobby generally plays by FOTM rules... so if Schiit gear is in high fashion then the prices are higher. I don't think many of those buyers even realize Schiit's policy on no warranty transfers.

There is also the question of tax and shipping (especially Tax). For me, I've only bought two new Schiit products from them directly. Tax on the high priced items like the Yggdrasil and Rag are pretty costly. I believe I paid around $2600 for the Yggdrasil when it was all said and done. Poor CA residents :(

Tax and shipping definitely needs to be taken into account. I bought my Bifrost Multibit used and the tax and shipping alone saved me at least $100, and that's their cheapest multibit DAC, so add even more if it's a Gungnir Multibit/Yggdrasil.

I'll be honest I have never run into any issues with Schiit stuff. They have always taken care of their customers and are super nice. I haven't heard anything about being super messed up so I assume Schiit is really doing their best to take care of anyone who owns a Schiit product.

My Yggdrasil cost me over $2500 after tax and shipping, but I consider that a fair premium for the black finish.

If Schiit's service page is still accurate their second-hand service policy seems very reasonable:
Their service charge may understandably be higher for their top-shelf products. It's still not bad when more than a few manufacturers simply won't touch second-hand products at all.

On something big I would usually ask my buddy to get it sent to him on the east coast then have it shipped to me :)

ah crap, totally missed that part on the service page about non-original owners just having to pay a small fee.
Searched on the internet and saw Jason (from Schiit)'s post on HF adamantly stating that warranty doesn't transfer, thought that meant they won't service 2nd hand owners. I probably would've bought used too then, oh wells.

Do people give credence to 6moons reviews? I know they have a whole page about why they only run reviews of companies that have advertised with them, but I still find it suspect when the items they review all magically compete with or beat TOTL products.

Whoever gets this, make sure the external PSU is not shipped in the same factory box as the amp. The box was not designed to be shipped that way. One box for amp. Another box for PSU.

I do. Read any two reviews and you know exactly their head-in-chief's preferences; he can come off as arrogant but really a reviewer has to do that, they need to insert themselves into every product review as it reminds the reader their tastes will not 100% match up with the writer. I simply get more out of a review when I have enough information to compare my own taste's with the reviewer's. Not many show the talent to write in a way which can be decoded by those with different biases.

    Home Page:
I read them for technical details and internal shots of gear that a lot of other reviewers don't cover. The rest is nonsensical, flowery bullshit.

I read Stereophile for measurements, and even then, not as an objectivist. Just out of curiousity. I don't read the actual review itself.

I read Tyll's content and look at his measurements because it's almost all usually good. :)

Don't know much about this amp, but just curious- was it typical for it to take only single ended inputs? My L2 has only balanced in.
