Vali2/ModiMB plus tubes galore.

For sale is my schiit stack ModiMB and Vali2.

Included in the package is:

1 Schiit ModiMB EU version

1 Schiit Vali2 EU version

1 socket saver from tubemonger.

1 ECC88 - > 5670 adapter (required to run tubes like the w396a)

1 Siemens CCa, 1963. This is the non shit version of Siemens CCa, that means the early sixties tube. It was bought as new in box by me and has run no more than 20 hours. Worth maybe $300 alone.

4 Ultron 7DJ8, a 7v version of 6DJ8, fully compatible with Vali2. Ask @atomicbob for impressions, he's running one of these. There's two builds, two of each are included. You be the judge of which sounds better. Also works well in Mjolnir2.

2 Saratov factory 6n23p tubes 1969/1970.
Don't bother me with questions about holy grail single wire ding dong silver shield BS á la heAD-fi, I know the true story. These are built like tanks, matched as hell, great sounding. Not that intense treble energy like many other Russian tubes, but lots of detail, speed and a touch of smooth vodka. But they're NOT worth $100, maybe $40.

1 Siemens E288CC.

1 Sylvania 6CG7/6FQ7

A bunch of other tubes, 8-10 of them. You'll see when you open the box. Notes will be included.

1 pair of PYST RCA Interconnects.

I'm thinking €500 for the complete package but I'll be open to negotiate if you think I'm a cheap mofo.

Just in case there are any noobs here that may not know you can run these "EU versions" in any country regardless of voltage as long as you purchase the appropriate wall warts from Schiit for a minimal cost.

 

If the loaner program would be interested in the ModiMB I could potentially split the package into Tubes+Vali2 and ModiMB alone.

If so I would make the ModiMB available for an attractive price and perhaps increase the price slightly on Vali2+Tubes pack. The buyer of Vali2 would contribute indirect to the loaner program.

@The Alchemist I'm not selling any of the tube separately. For Mjolnir2, aim higher if that amp is your endgame. Stay patient, now and then really nice ones show up here.

 

In general my interest is in the base Vali 2.

If you insist on adding the tube set, well add the ones you recommend and we have a deal. I am a noob with tubes anyway.

 

Oh, you should totally do this. It's a charming little amp, really easy to listen to and live with. The only downside is that it's an obvious gateway drug, and you can lose whole evenings relaxing into the music.

 

I'll give it a week or so, and if not moved as a package I'll split out the Vali2 together with socket saver, Siemens CCa, Siemens E288CC, the 5670 converter, the Sylvania 6CG7/6FQ7 and perhaps a surprise or two.

Haven't figured out a price yet but shoot me a PM if this is interesting or come with a separate buyer for the ModiMB to hold hands for this purchase and you can split the costs in any way you want

Hi Changeling. Why are you selling your Modi MB / Vali 2 stack? Did you upgrade both? Perhaps to Gungnir Multibit and Mjolnir 2?

Just bought a WE396A for my Vali 2, sounds awesome - got hit for import taxes etc from USA though.

 

My work travels are intensifying in the upcoming months and with house and kids I'm not going to have the time to enjoy this second system of mine. I'll be replacing it with a DAP sometime later this summer; after learning more about them I guess...

My main setup (lynx, Yggdrasil, mj2) has also been decimated when I sold the Mjolnir2. I'll be moving to a solid state amp later this year. I've started to do some research but solid state seems crazy to understand.

 

Looking forward to when you're selling like 20 unused DAPs here next year.
