Yes, I did try that. You missed it from my first post :). It does work flawlessly when reversed.
Without another functioning cable I can't be 100% certain it's the wire though. It's most likely the culprit but I want it confirmed first. I'd sleep much better knowing I won't need to send them back for repairs.

the problem should be reproduced on the other channel in this case. Am I missing something again?

After a week of listening to these I've got to say I love them (listening with MCTH).

However, the clamp on my extremely wide (apparently) head combined with the weight have made my jaw problems explode.

Are there other planars that sound like this? The dynamics and tone are incredible. I would choose this over any LCD-2 model I've heard in a heartbeat.

No, I'm just cautiously optimistic. The right wire also wiggles slightly when inserted into the left ear cup but it doesn't drop out.

Yeah, I have some clamping issues as well. Might need to adjust mine some more.

L wire inserted into R driver should reproduce the issue if the problem is only with the cable.

That's what I though would happen too but when they're reversed nothing drops out. And it does when connected to the correct driver. They wiggle when connected to either driver with both 2.5mm plugs as well.

    EDIT: Grammar...

It's clearly the cable. Take another and fix the problem once and for all.

Yeah, I'll wait for my new wire to arrive and confirm it for everyone.

How much current verum 1 draws from the amplifier?

What is the DAC you're using with THX 789 to drive the Verum 1s? Is it a balanced dac connected to THX through XLR inputs

2V in peaks is very loud. So, I= U^2/R = 2^2/8=500 mA in PEAKS during a very loud listening session.

But are they better in terms of detail/resolution? I worry about the differences due to the thicker membrane, and all comparisons I'm seeing are to more expensive models, not to the cheaper/comparable-price single-sided planars.

I also want to hear more thoughts about micro detail of Verum 1 vs other planars. While it's still my rule not say anything about the sound of my products i've listened carefully to many competitor models that claimed to have better details and in most cases I think that treble peaks are of interpretated as an improvement in resolution.

I’ve not had time to go deep and listen to mine, but I know what you’re getting at. The Verum 1 is near TOTL where it comes to technical performance. Better than the LCD-2C, Abyss 1266, and Kennerton Thror in Micro-detail/Plankton and Micro-dynamics.

I think I know which ones you're talking about.

I was expecting lower details, but found out that the Verum is no slouch at all in details. Actually I still can't find a real weak point of the Verum. It is a balanced and smooth sound.

It is exceptional in most ways, and I expect will be recommended along side the HD6x0 long term. But the two most notable weaknesses are that it’s too damn bright, and has a light presentation lacking in slam and fullness. The latter of which I was surprised by given it’s membrane size and thickness, and magnet system.

I'm surprised about the slam. I find it to be one of the most slamming can I tried recently.

Well @BenjaminBore is coming off a TH900, Utopia, and Lord alone knows what else. I imagine people's criteria for slam might differ based on what they're accustomed to. Could also be upstream gear since I don't think the ZDT Jr/NBM (has anyone done a direct comparison between these yet?) is particularly excellent at slam, much as I like it for other reasons.
