Praise for this is legit, IMO. Well balanced, smooth, subtle complexity. The rest of the chain is appropriately matched:

    Modi 3 .. SW51+ .. HD6XX .. good kid, m.A.A.d city

This evening I have been drinking, in order of appearance:

Rossini Italian lager (ALDI version of Peroni).
Banks's Amber Bitter (something beautiful from Wolverhampton! A modern miracle).
Carullo Spanish lager (ALDI version of some Spanish beer, probably).
Wild Bill's IPA (Marstons' take on USA style IPA; it isn't exactly like any USA IPA I ever tried but it is hoppy, citrusy (not a word?) and very fresh and enjoyable).

And some ALDI cheap cream sherry he he he he he he.

BTW I invented a new drink. No spirits so not quite a cocktail, more like a DIY tonic wine. Here's the formula:

Red Thunder (ALDI own brand version of Red Bull): One can into big tumbler.
Lemon slices (this makes it healthy)
Ice cubes (because they are free)
Fill glass with ALDI Cream Sherry.

Give it a quick stir or shake and get stuck in. Never, never disrespect the awesome power of caffeine mixed with sweet alcohol and ice. Translation: have another one :)

In honour of the ingredients Red Thunder and Cream Sherry I have decided to christen this heavenly concoction as follows:

    Chunder.

Thank you, good luck and good night.

White Russian-dessert- Mule Train Variations on the phones-quiet time, all else abed. Warm breeze light out of the SE,boat barely bobbing on its lines, mullet jumping in the canal on their way to meet carnivores further south. Tropical nites, recharge for tomorrow's crises. Good night Irene....

Blood and Sand, made with Lagavulin 16. I still think a smokier, less peaty Scotch like Laphroaig is best for the cocktail, but I have to admit that this one was delicious anyway. And it photographs nicely.

Something brand-new: A Negroni, but made with Cynar instead of gin. Bitter and delicious -- all it needs is a good name.

I’m new to whiskey and decided to try Laphroaig since I enjoy smokey flavors. I’ve been enjoying this over the last couple of weeks. Now I’m over to the whiskey thread for some further smokey recommendations.

I have been really busy lately but I finally got a chance to sit and listen to some music after a busy day of working outside in the cold. I'm listening to an album by Jean-Michel Blais with my Etymotic ER4SR. This kind of music goes magically with this set. I was inspired to enhance my senses with transparent, gluten-free, potato made poison with what little of this vodka remains in my stash. Which reminded me of this thread, and this forum, which I haven't been to in a while. Hope everyone's doing well here. (Happy new year!)

    Doggo added for reference.
