I started watching Too Old to Die Young last night and barely made it through the first few scenes. Refn at his most pretentious. Long drawn out scenes of neon pondering, and it's like watching paint dry. I might take another stab at it over dinner tonight but it's not looking good.

We are once again watching Farscape while the kids are around, and I have to say it's still enjoyable nearly 20 years later. That is, if you enjoyed it the first time. Which I did. Immensely.

Also started Mindhunter because of so many comments here. Still not sure if it's our cuppa tea, but then again we just saw the first episode.

Farscape! That's on my Prime watchlist. I enjoy that show - not as much as TV Star Trek, but it is still fun to watch.

I just wrapped up season 2 of Goliath. Both season 1 and 2 had their moments, but at the end... both left me sort of... meh...?

Mindhunter picks up slowly. You have to stay with it for first few episodes.

I was a "latchkey kid" and saw OG Star Trek daily after school—after I Love Lucy & Hogan's Heroes—and of course TNG & some of DS9. I like'em all, they're all different. But for me, Farscape is one of my favorite all-time sci-fi shows, more so than the treks. I also liked Stargate SG-1 more than expected, but not really enough to watch a second time.

I think this is 3rd full running of Farscape for me and the Mrs. We know the major plot points but have forgotten the episodes. A first for the kids, who of course aren't as enthusiastic about it as we are.

Also watching Good Eats the Return when I can stream it. I ain't payin' for cable ever again.

This was very unusual minimalist flick, even by Refn's standards! Valhalla Rising is IMO the one to beat, but I'm biased due to M. Mikkelsen's role. He nailed it in Hannibal too.

I honestly found Valhalla Rising more accessible than Only God Forgives. Because I feel like back then Refn was still trying to prove himself. Only God Forgives was Refn already having his dick sucked by the critical establishment, and as a result it felt alot more up his own ass. But that's just me.

Really liked Goliath season 1 on Amazon Prime so taking in S2 right now. Isn't hooking me as much, but it's still one of the better shows I've seen... so far.

Getting back to The Walking Dead after skipping last season. I had lost interest after the last couple seasons which I felt like I was forcing myself to watch. Interestingly, these first 3 episodes of Season 9 have been really excellent. Excited to watch the rest and might even pony up the cash to watch Season 10 as it airs via Vudu.

I found my interest in TWD Season 9 start to trail off vs. the other seasons. It had it's moments but it seemed like it took a season to cover what would have been covered in half a season previously. It's like the writers were on a part vacation and just kinda milking it. I've enjoyed the series but I want it to be over.

I didn't last more than 2 and a half seasons of that dreadful show.

I honestly think it went downhill as soon as Darabont left. He was famously fired during S2 and subsequently shut out of his fair share of the profits (which he's still battling AMC in court over last I heard).

Yup, was and still prolly is a messy divorce.

Not sure about you folks, but I'd very much like to see something made entirely by Guillermo del Toro. I saw The Strain and enjoyed it to quite a degree, del Toro's vibe was all over the place.
