I own JRMC and use FB2k primarily. I get no difference in audio between the two using ASIO or WASAPI...IMO SBAF is going supernervosa this last week and being all hyperbolic with f**k-all detail. Aaaargh! It's Terrible! Low bitrate spotify youtube stream!

f'ing hell, break out the foil hats. If it sounds that shit you've managed to get a system mixer in the way.

Have you (or others on here) ever used Plex Media Server for FLAC file playback? It's what I'm currently using for my personal library. I like it because it supports Google Cast (to CCAs for my whole home audio) and has an app/support for all the devices/platforms I personally use (mobile Android, Android TV, and Windows 10).

I'm not thrilled with its UI (for music, not movies), and I've had frustrations with its scraping/album art recovery. I don't find it very easy to "rediscover" parts of my collection that I haven't listened to in a while. I'm interested in/open to trying something new...

Does anything I just described cause you to change your recommendation, specifically for me, or would you still feel that JRiver is the next alternative I should try? I echo your sentiments about Roon... it seems like a GREAT solution... but $500 just to listen to my own music seems like a steep hill that I'm not sure I have the legs to climb, when I already have a solution that plays my files back for me (all-be-it in an unsatisfying manner as described above).

I switched from Winamp to Foobar and settled on MusicBee. It Just Works™ and has plugins and such
