I'm a closet T-ara "uncle fan" (guess I'm out now :p)and have a playlist of my favourites that I go through at work. It's loud enough to block out noisy colleagues and the energy is good for productivity. I don't speak Korean so the vocals aren't distracting. Don't really like any other Kpop other than half a dozen SNSD tracks.

    Here's someone else's favourites list.

Like a laid back version of a Bonobo album, one of my favorite tracks: Si (Plasma Rüby Rework)

I always found this to be soothing and non-distracting for me whenever I need to spend some time with boring data entry or SQL work. The whole album is on youtube and Tidal.

Tried that one this morning, first time I'm saying this but it wasn't the best on the Andromeda (gasp). There's a grandeur and scale to that recording that doesn't seem to come through properly on anything but circumaural probably. Been listening to 'Sophisticated Lady Jazz Quartet' all afternoon. Pretty awesome. Also James Matheson.

Difficult, as I find myself sucked in when listening to well recorded music on great systems. I do find the calming music of Gary Stroutsos useful after having listened to any period of nonsense espoused at a meeting of any kind.

https://musicforprogramming.net/ is good for some ambient mixes from lesser known artists. You can download the playlist offline if need too.

Usually what I listen to varies depending on my mood. Found myself listening to these lately.

Emyn Muil - Túrin Turambar Dagnir Glaurunga, I found this album after searching for the Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor OST on Discogs. Was hoping to find an LP version of ME:SOM but alas, none exists. Anyway, this group's name is a LOTR reference which intrigued me. Emyn Muil is a craggy area of Mordor.

It occurs to me that Black Metal makes for decent work music, the lyrics are mostly unintelligible (unless you play it backwards or something, probably. Wait, to be serious though, I think you're supposed to crank it to make out the lyrics, but I lack the nihilism necessary to sacrifice my ears that way.)

As far as Black Metal albums go, don't listen to that one, lol. That was just my meandering lead in to this one, which is better:

The last few entries were lost due to the server burp. Can't remember who said they were surprised to find the Andromeda inadequate for this . I'm listening to it for the first time at work with my Andros and they are more than adequate. The bass drums(?) and timpanis in To Know My Enemy literally shook me in my chair.

Carolin Widmann & Alexander Lonquich, (Schubert; Fantasie C-major, Rondo H-minor, Sonata A-major) on ECM is one of those albums that I can't listen to for work. I get nothing done. I'm just sucked in and an hour later I'm back.

I've found a fair amount of decent non-English stuff lately, maybe you can consider vocals you cannot understand? :)

Listened some Mastodon at work today with my crappy portable setup: CAT S40 --> ATH-MSR7 and it felt really good.
Came home, put it through my main system and .. '...the f**k is this shit'.
Listened to to the same crappy CAT + MSR7 for sanity check --> '''barf-barf-barf''.

I guess for me it's like hunger vs food. There's almost no shitty food when I'm starving.
No, I don't think Mastodon is shit, rather I should listen to music at work hours.

For some reason, this album is not available on CD nor vinyl. What a f'ing shame because, like most of his other works, it's staggering.
