If anyone has one that they would like to sell for a future GumFreya mod...I am looking.

Doesnt have to be black, but it would be preferred. Also would like it to already have some sort of USB for easy testing/comparing to current DAC.

I would do a straight trade of my ECP Walnut X.3 DAC for a Black Gungnir MB (A1 preferred...if these even exist).

This shift in DAC is all in the name of fun in the hobby!!!

The internal clock in my head may be completely out of calibration, but I don't think black was ever an option for the A1. I've seen A2 (serial starts with B) and A2-VCO (serial starts with C, as I recall) in black.

    Good luck with the hunt...

Thank you. I have seen them listed as A1, but with a C start to the serial number. I was never sure what the C meant, since some of the very early models had this.

Just throwing it out to the audio world and seeing what turns up!

VCO Gungnirs all start with a L, if I'm not mistaken.

C could be A1, but it's hard to tell, very early Gungnirs did, like you said @Ksorota, have those (the product page for the Gungnir shows a C serial number model and that pic is old af). 0, A are most likely A1, but even then you have 0600XXXX that are very close to being bleached, silent rev. A2s, so idk.

Mine is a 0600XXXX and it sounds very unlike @rhythmdevils's true A1 I heard at the Schiit Audio Show. Whitney's is grayer, more liquid, and smoother than mine. I might have a bleached A2, so watch out, out there... But yeah, doubt you'll find a black A1...
