Looking for the warmer sounding A1 version of the Gungnir Multibit. Doesn't matter if it has Gen5 USB or not. Thanks!

Have you had a chance to compare A1 vs. A2? This is on my radar for personal endgame DAC down the road and I'd prefer a warmer sound with punchier bass.

Nope. This is all based on read comparisons. I don't need syrupy or warm poo, but I definitely don't want anything considered cool, bright, or possibly even dead neutral.

Gungnir Multibit A1 is pretty much exactly this. I suspect you will want for little after getting it. Extremely hard to beat.

No argument with the above comments, but it does depend on the rest of your system (duh).

I really can't stand cold/clinical sound. The A2 gives me plenty of warmth with tubes and the HD650.

The ECP L2 I am using uses tubes, but I wouldn't necessarily peg it as a warm amp. Pretty neutral. I currently enjoy the sound of it with the Modi Multibit with the HD800s. I just read that Marv said the A2 could be cool with the wrong setup and I don't want to necessarily risk going any cooler or lose any bass (already as little as I'd like). I am about to add some nickel core transformers to the L2, which might alter what I need.

Maybe, maybe not. FWIW, the Cinemag L-2 I picked up from Luckbad pairs excellently with my SFD1 (slight warmth / denser tones) and 600 running NOS tubes. The 800 would still be a nice match IMO, but the 650 may be too much.

My T3 (which I'd consider neutral with slight lushness) has great synergy with A1.
