WTB: Schiit/Valhalla2/Saga/Lyr3 (Or Similar, for use as Pre amp)

Hey Guys,

I'm looking for a Schiit Pre Amp, or headphone amp for use as pre amp (or similar brand I guess?) I'm looking to keep the cost low, so not the Freya. I'm honestly not too fussy what it is, I'd just like to find something that doesn't use a wall wart, and isn't tiny.

I have my Amp sorted, and I think I have my DAC sorted. However, if you have a Lyr 3 with a DAC Module for sale, I'd definitely consider it.

This is for a temporary affordable set up as my Primary source is away being fixed, so any deals will eventually be re-sold here and be passed on to another member. I'm not looking to make profit, flip etc...

Why not get a simpler nobsound for example instead to use as a preamp? or do you need gain?

 

I guess I could? I'd prefer to buy used if possible. I think I probably do need gain, but I could be wrong. I suppose I'm also just curious about Schiits offerings as well.

 

Nobsound will only cost like $50 and is a good passive preamp. Buying a schiit amp to use as a preamp will not only be overkill it might not be as transparent either.

 

Maybe you want to add some tube sound to your system. I can only tell saga won't do this job, just a bit low end but not too much.

 

I got a B-Stock Sys from Schiit for $35. It works far better than I thought it would.
