Better question is would changing our decision (and its effect) change whether Germany won.

 

We'd all be speaking German. Well some of us. Most of us would be written out of existence. Master race and all....

 

I meant: if you knew Germany would win the war.

I voted no, considering how things worked out; but I'd change my vote if I knew Germany would win.

Given that our present day holocaust's (and there are several ongoing - I won't name them in the interest of civility) have nothing to do with Hitler I would choose someone else. Just not sure who.

As much as I would love to, and it would probably save a large proportion of my family, I still wouldn't. Too risky to f**k with the past. I mean our world is pretty decent in general. We have computers, and headphones, and jumbo jets. On the other hand...

I am Dutch. Here history and its analysis is not appreciated as much as it deserves to be. Europe is also not that great at historical awareness, look at the EU and its crises.

My personal opinion is this: if you are the person who says history repeats itself, f**k you; in the context the variables always change.

I sometimes despise how little respect history gets when the nuance of history is so often needed to avoid tunnel vision and solipsism. When people are too f'ing lazy to learn, f**k them.

This is all I have to say before I write angry essays...
