Your surround/multichannel setups!

    Recently I've gone from the headphone game to speakers and a 7.1 surround sound set-up. I've got a Marantz SR6012 AVR with Bowers and Wilkins S2 S83's/686's/HTM61 and a pair Polk Audio PSW10 subwoofers. Loving it so far for movies, and it does the job for music (though it's quite different from Yggdrasil/Rag/Utopia combo I had :D) I have to say I never really got into speakers because I didn't think I'd have the space but now that I have I definitely prefer them to headphones.

    Anyway is it true that it's better to go with separate processors/amps etc rather than and AVR? Any advice regarding upgrading? I hear it's best to stick with the same brand for all the speakers in a surround setup?

    (maybe this is the wrong place for this kind of thing? I've not come across a forum for multichannel setups, hopefully not a sign :p
