    I like that approach of not using the dash mid/tweeter location on the FR-S/BRZ because the windshield angle is too steep and the tweeter firing into the window causes all sorts of problems. The Illusion Audio coaxials seem interesting (so many car audiophile brands at super high cost!), but I'm more likely to go with the the lower cost coaxials from established speaker driver manufacturers such as Seas. Trying to avoid Focal this time around, when and if I get to it.

    From the outside at least it's similar. He replaced driver's seat, removed passenger seat, replaced console trim with carbon fiber and the hood, battery, etc. Stripped the carpet and pretty much anything optional. It's a track car, not a daily driver so I'm not sure he cares about aesthetics.

    The guy works in accessory development (spoilers and other options), so he was able to get it done very affordably.

    That's awesome. I've seen a few FR-S like that around the Toyota HQ in Torrance. Now I know what some of these Toyota guys do in their spare time. The car is already loud enough with the rear seat and spare tire taken out. I need to figure out a smart way of putting lightweight soundproofing back in. The good thing is that the aero is awesome. Very little wind noise on the windshield and side windows at speed - something that can't be said with the Cayman.

    Any reason to avoid Focal for car audio? Focal makes a drop-in kit for BMWs. Me not understanding how the upstream in car audio works, a drop-in kit seems appealing.

    No reason at all. I've used Focal on two cars now. Want to try something different. The drop-in stuff (universal line) is definitely a step-up from OEM and doesn't have the power requirements of an aftermarket amp. Highly recommended and the price is right too.

    BR-Z Series.Blue. Arguably a waste of money for mostly cosmetics, a few touches of leather, and nicer seats; but I wanted the aero kit and special underbody panels that could only be gotten in Japan. The underbody panels would have cost a ton to acquire and install in the States. I was just happy I knew I wasn't missing out on anything after test driving the base Cayman.

    Marvey, you have found my weakness. It's cars. The new GT3 Porsche just came out in Geneva. Praise... A six speed is available once again. No turbo. Just Porsche goodness. This is the car I want, the GT3, or GT3 RS. No turbo, Just that racing motor that can take abuse all day long at the track. My calendar is open.

    Big D you seem like a good guy. I think you been triggered recently due to how people to have reacted to your posting. I think the criticism might have gotten a little overboard and I can sympathize with you.

    That said, the criticism is legitimate. If you reduce your length and frequency of your posts and focus on making your point of your posts in concise manner, it would be easier for me to figure out what your point is and whether it is useful to me. If you continue as posting as you were previously, I will become more frustrated at reading your wall of words or, how I see it, textual diarrhea.

    If you say I should just ignore you, I hope you take some time to reflect that it is not just me who is thinking this. TBH your content is different and might become relevant for me in the future, but I rather not be reminded about it every single hour of every frigging day. Please be considerate to others on this site when you post.

    I think many are missing the picture of life when kids and family have entered the circle. We need as males to bond with each other. I find driving sports cars and the fun behind it is my passion. I think Marvey is in the same boat as me.
