I mean, it's a real thing. I mean no offense to anyone, but it's very clear that the older you get, the more likely you are to enjoy a brighter sound. Just look at the headphones people prefer and correlate with their age!
That doesn't make what they hear any less valid, nor is there any shame in that, but it's a point to keep in mind. Same thing for if you must wear glasses while listening, and it affects pad seal. Even hair can do that.
It would be an interesting to see the correlation between age and headphones. Think I read some research (was it Philips?Olive?) that older= more experienced listerners like more treble and less bass. Also culture seems to be a factor.
The guy mentioned Audio Science Review in his comment. I went over and decided to read their ODAC review. The admin plugged his headphones into the lineout and declared it inferior.
Pretty sure that site founder has bungled measurements repeatedly... and refused to admit it until he tries again later.
At this point I have to assume TiM is a successful parody account to explain "NwAvGuy and his designs pass the test of time, I know of Mastering Engineers that own and use his DAC & Amp.
