'Harry And Tonto'? I'm not seeing a direct correlation, unless that deck has been your loyal companion through many adventures. Or it's just a hip cat!

Tonto All dressed to move on. Jeez, the next time I do this I will charge for packaging AND carrying it to the truck.

You know what they say about men with big tables. They need big boxes.:)

Good call on the shipping @Daveheart and @shaizada! Bring a truck @Marvey, @brencho , mother of God. Good thing tomorrow is Fathers' day.

When I bought the table I lost the boxes, then had to move. When you pay $350 for boxes, you keep them for life!

Good God. As much as I'd want that table, I can't imagine all that sitting in front of my door (or paying for the shipping). Not to mention it's been oppressively hot, and I doubt any of that would like sitting on my porch in high 90 degree heat.

Shipping will suck hard, but for all my audio buys, I usually have fedex/UPS hold onto my items for pickup. Can't risk the headache if something gets stolen.

I was messing around with my turntable today and decided to go with my idea of adding some mass to the Debut Carbon's tonearm. I wanted to try this because the Nagaoka MP110 I'm currently using has a low compliance (6x10-6 cm/dyne at 100Hz, so approximately 11x10-6 cm/dyne at 10Hz based on what I've seen online) so I figured the only way to make them match better was to add weight to the arm. And I wanted to see if and how this affected things.

I had a last bit of dynamat lying around so I managed to get a 2x8cm strip and and stuck it on it under the tonearm. I didnt check what the weight was before slapping it on, because i forgot (and also because I didnt have a weighing scale to measure something that light anyway). But I looked at how much I had to rebalance the arm by and it was a little over 3g.

Playing some records I'm familiar with, I do perceive a slight change in the bass. Things sound a bit tighter/cleaner, and slightly more impactful at the same time. I really didnt expect any change when I started down this path so I tried to go back and forth to compare but it looked like way too much work to get the Dynamat off in a way that I could use it again, so I abandoned the attempt. After all it was a positive change (albeit a small one) so I'm happy to just leave it as is and enjoy :)

I cleaned it up a little. Real budget rig though

$100 Turntable on craigslist- Pioneer PL-12D II
    $20 Wood rack/shelves at goodwill
    $50 receiver/preamp on craigslist- Onkyo TX-2500 MKII
$100 speakers on craigslist- Ohm Walsh 2
And then there is my heaphone stuff, a bit more expensive.

Also, 2$ LED strip from ebay on turntable.

I have checked craigslist every once in a while and all I have seen around here is either junk or overpriced or both. Maybe the key is checking everyday.

There is a lot of that. Just comb through every day, and set the sort to newest.
But occasionally, you come across a jem.
This $200 Mad Dog Pro is enticing, if I didn't have TH-X00
