    @Dino the guy from local shop said $500 bookshelf spakers (ie Audioengines) are better than hd800. I'm kinda skeptical, but I'm a total TT noob.

    Headphones and speakers seem kind of like comparing apples and oranges. I have never heard anything from a credible source about the Audioengines. I have never heard the HD800 but I have read credible descriptions (pro and con) here. You might want to post in the Two-Channel Advice thread and see what people think.

    If you get a chance to listen/buy locally, I really like Vandersteen. They are mostly floor standing and expensive to ship, though.
