Perspective is a very healthy thing, my friend. I enjoy all of this and plan to get better gear as as life permits. But I also know I'm good where I'm at for now because, cash aside, I am spending more time exercising, cooking, reading, meditating and husbanding. Bigger improvement in my life than any end game gear I currently don’t have time for. That said...I'll still thoroughly enjoy the DAC comparisons.

I want to hear about the logistics of four magnificent women in three days... at sea.

Mornings were a constant wait for the head? ;)

Probably not what you meant ...

    Any pics? Please?

Of the boats, particularly, but I don't object to inclusion of women :)

Have to raid my fiancé phone for pictures of the boats ... will post one of me at the helm of the larger vessel in a bit though ... first I have to immerse myself in "Carmen" (Jessye Norman)!

Does your fiance mind you immersing yourself in Carmen?

    Not when she's at work ... ;)

But it's a non-factor when she's home. Nowhere I'd rather be than with, and immersed in, her ...

Enviable situation. Magnificent woman who's into boats. I guess she doesn't object to cats either! Wonderful!

Hey, Happy to see the profile pic. Wouldn't know any specific boats these days, but what length? rig?

That'd be a 56 foot full keel cutter.

    Wow.

Biggest boats I ever sailed where 44-ft. One then-modern GRP ketch and an old British wooden cutter (Robert Clark? A brain cell suggests) that a friend of mine lived aboard.

Cutter was my favourite rig. I'm a wimp: I liked that foresail area being split. Looks nice too.

I stopped sailing because of ill health, and when it got better, I'd got into other things.
