    Some things I've discovered while I have been here:
    • Food in Melbourne is fantastic. Kind of laid back and seems to be more of a cultural center.
    • People in Sydney walk too fast. They always seem to be in a rush. I'm surprised I haven't seen someone get run over yet in the street.
    • Johnny Depp is an idiot and is an embarrassment to all Americans. There is no rabies here.
    • Din Tai Fung Sydney is in a Westfield mall (see below) and their Xiao Long Bao is superior to any of the USA locations.

    This place in Sydney sells mid-fi headphones. It's in the mall. Lots of people and lots energy in Sydney.

    East (HuTong) XLB in Melbourne

    Both fantastic. DTF XLB is more like the "STAX" of XLB, delicate and light, with nice a pocket of pork juice inside. The XLB from East is more hearty. They are bigger and more gamey tasting and the juice and coagulated pork blood will squirt out across the table if you are not careful.

    Actually there is an NZ Headphone meet coming up soon. If you can snag a trans Tasman flight for cheap, NZ is definitely not to be missed. It's winter so most of the tourists have left.

    Sadly, I was only in Melbourne for a few days. I am certain I will be back in my lifetime. I'd love to see the F1 race. It was wonderful chatting with people who are fans of F1.

    If you're still taking recommendations, Pasticceria Papa in Haberfield probably has the best Ricotta cheesecake you'll try.

    I spend way too much time in cake shops when I'm over there, I must admit.

    Thanks for the recommendations. Sadly, I'm flying back home in the morning. I've love to take my wife here WITHOUT the kids. The Vivid lighting festival is pretty neat - seeing old people, young couples, families with kids, walking around.
