This'll be a quick and easy in-person hand off since we all work in Manhattan.

 

Dropped off to kunlun yesterday.

 

Colgin, thegunner and I are pm'ing about a hand-off to Colgin. Should be Tues, Wed or Thurs, depending on what's best for Colgin as it all works for me.

 

I just PM'd you both. Tomorrow is good although I can be flexible.

 

Could I hear this on the way back home? SoCal, here.

 

I picked this up from @Kunlun today. However, I cannot get it t work with any of my IOS devices. The Chord USB cable was not included and I will get that from @thegunner100 later this week. But I have some of my own micro-USB cables. And I bought a CCK from the Apple store today as I know you need that. Now the Mojo was at very low battery power so I juiced it for about an hour to get a partial charge. But when I plugged everything together music just played through my phone speakers and not the cans that were plugged in. Funny thing is that when I would initially plug the Mojo into the phone the ball would turn red so it seemed to indicate it was receiving the output from the phone. And if I unplugged it the light would go off. But then if I re-plugged it the light would not go back on . I then needed to power on and off to get the red indicator light on the third ball to go back on. But even when it did, no music from cans and output only to speakers.

The first micro-USB was not a great fit but the second fit in nice and snug. Are there different types of USB connectors and is it possible the one I have is not sufficient. Would love to get this working before I meet up with thegunner100.

 

Anyway to get in on this? I am not a friend yet but I have been pretty active and I am on the east coast so shipping should be quick.

 

(Sticking my oar in, even though it's not really anything to do with me, please excuse that..)

One gotcha that I noticed with mine is that it wouldn't work as a USB DAC from my PC if I went through any sort of hub, it just didn't work. Other than that, it was all plain sailing. With my iPad, I just used a CCK and a standard USB to micro-USB lead- every one that I tried worked. It's a lot less fiddly than using it with my Android devices, in fact.

Could you try it on your computer, just to rule out the possibility that the Mojo has been borked in transit?

Also, I realise that I haven't tried it on the iPad since I upgraded to iOS 10, maybe I should in case that's the issue. I know that the latest MacOS breaks USB audio a bit too, so Apple have form here..

 

The USB worked fine from my Surface Pro 1 (W10) and desktop (W7).

 

Could be a CCK issue. I used the Mojo this morning with the optical input with my Sonos as source. Sounded great with HD 600. tonight I will download windows driver and see if I can run it via USB off my PC. If I can then it is a CCK or IOS issue.

 

Tiny data point, I just tried my Mojo on my fully patched up to date (iOS 10.2 I think?) iPad, and it worked just fine- it appeared as "Mojo" in the new "Now Playing" control at the bottom of the screen, and just worked without any issues. I was just using CCK and a cheap USB cable. Can you plug something else into your CCK (another DAC? USB headset?) to see if it works?

 

I think the problem is my IOS is out of date. The Apple website shows a requirement of 9.2 or later for the latest CCK (the one I bought). I tried my wife's phone which is a newer model (6 versus my 5s) thinking that was up to date, but hers could well have been a later version 8.x. Not sure I want to possibly brick my Iphone 5s by upgrading IOS 10 just to test this theory. (Planning on getting a 6s -- headphone jack FTW -- soon.)

 

You can check the version on her phone by going to settings, and into Software Updates- it will show you the version number there (sorry if I'm being Captain Obvious here, may be teaching you to suck eggs).
