I got this new-old-stock from a mate last year. Has approx 200 hours on it & includes a couple of optional extras... AES and USB (M2Tech) inputs. Spotless condition balanced non-oversampling 24-192 DAC. Cost £2600+ new.

    SBAF friends price = £1000

(It'll go on sale for lots more elsewhere if it doesn't sell here)

Awesome deal! I used to own a Metrum Hex and this is a huge bargain. Good luck with your sale, mate.

Yay, congrats, finally. Soon you can spend too much on more transducers :)

Not necessarily the right thread to ask, but did you ever compare the Hex to something like a Bifrost Multibit?

Sorry missed your question the other day. Not Bifrost Multibit, but I did have an Yggdrasil alongside the Hex for a couple of weeks. Yggdrasil was preferable with speakers (via Rag), more 3D, super clean. With headphones it was closer. The Hex does have a nice, natural tone to it. I'd be happy with either in a headphone system, although tbh sometimes I do struggle to tell the difference between dacs, so YMMV!
