SOLD Fostex/Massdrop TH-X00 PH w/Lawton tune-up

Bought these here in November last year from @Neal and like them quite a bit, but just snagged a pair of Atticus, so these need to go. Everything is in great shape, used lightly, Lawton tune-up kit applied, minus the acoustic foam in the cups, just driver damping. I can include the foam for the cups if you like. The tune-up didn't make a HUGE difference, but the HF ringing is gone and makes these much more enjoyable for long listening. Paid $280 before tune-up($45) asking $300 paypal and shipping included in conus.

 

These are always so beautiful to look at I just wish they worked for my head shape/glasses. The Lawton mod takes them closer to neutral which takes away slightly from the fun sound sig and tightens up bass. The mods are also not easy to remove from what I remember.

 

The bass is more affected by the acoustic foam in the cups, which I didn't leave in, because it took out too much bass/fun. The rest of the mod is just dynamat-esque stuff applied to the backside of the drivers to reduce ringing. 1st pic shows the first strip of damping being applied, 2nd is with it all applied, just to give an idea of the mod.
