Unmodified, original condition HD580, bought from @Mr.Sneis
No issues, sounds great. I just might like my HD650 better, or about the same. My HD650 has more clamping force, the 580 is a bit loose after time. Not floppy though.

I think I want to put more of my focus on speakers.

$150, includes HD650 cable, ill throw in some HD650 from foams too if I can find where I put them, as the front foam in the 580 seems a bit thin and old.

"a bit loose after time. Not floppy though."

Those inner foams (and all the pads) were actually replaced with (Sennheiser brand) new parts, the inner foams aren't very durable though in my experience. The drivers are also (old) white screen if I recall correctly?

Frankly I'm surprised this hasn't been marked sold yet. Funds permitting (and I'm getting a 650 soon dammit), I'd have queued up soon after it was posted :p

@Mr.Sneis pardon my ignorance but aren't the white screen HD580 supposed to be later-production with a tad more distortion than the older (?) velvet ones?

Yes I believe the white screens came after the black screens but not sure on when vs the silver screens. I don't think 580's ever came with silver screens though.

Sonics is anyone's guess, you'll read some that prefer newer, some that prefer older, some that detect no difference.

Haha! Should have figured. Congrats on the sale, @spwath!

@Mr.Sneis Lots more silent revisions among the members of the 58X and 6XX families than I was initially aware of, then. Kinda wonder if anyone's ever fully documented all changes among these cans, and measured the same. Would be a cool resource if there were one.

    But that's O/T, so I'm butting out now :p
