My buddy has it and though I won't touch console games (PCMR) it did look good.

The last game I played was Ace Combat 5, The Unsung War. I hardly play anymore due to school and work. I'd rather listen to music anyway.

I'll be honest I have bought consoles then sold them when no games are around then bought it again. I'm tired of that. My gaming PC is used everyday and doesn't collect dust.

I dunno, Battlefront feels fun and solid to me, just very shallow. I get the impression DICE had a full game ready, but EA wanted them to break it down to 1 game + 4 DLC. Will probably feel much better and more complete with DLC. It is a gorgeous game, though, and very well optimized on consoles and PC. That alone makes me happy to play it (UNLIKE FALLOUT 4 ON AMD GPUS *big ol' middle finger*).

Halo 5 is definitely a better, more complete MP experience, though...and it comes with a campaign. I just tried Big Team Battle on H5 lately, and it feels really damn good.

Of course you had a better MP experience with Halo 5. The reason being is that Bungie understands the netcode and requirements to make a good seamless MP game. DICE unfortunately is plagued by EA and will never live up to the expectations that many people expect. Look at how fail Battlefield was and honestly Battlefield was a better game than most of the latest iterations of COD.

My expectations for FPS's has gone up since I got back into CS (with CSGO). No point for me to engage in boring, unrefined shooters using the same old mechanics with a just different skin on everything. I consider most of this crap (Battlefield3 and after, Halo, CoD, etc.) to be the mid-fi purgatory of FPS's.

Dude the aluminum cans are no joke to find. But they did add that tag for search which has been pretty helpful.

Bungie hasn't done Halo since Halo: Reach. Halo 4, Master Chief Collection (I know, not original, but a compilation), and Halo 5 are all 343 Industries developed. Bungie moved on to develop Destiny.

Halo 4 had some sizable matchmaking and netcode bugs at launch. MCC was a complete mess with netcode and matchmaking. Absolutely horrid. It's still not 100% even after a year on the market. Halo 5, however, it pretty damn good with netcode and matchmaking.

I remember Battlefield 3 and 4 having tons of netcode issues. I don't think they fully resolved them until a year or so after B4 had launched. Yes, they launched B4 without ever having really fixed B3. Cool, right?

That said, Battlefront doesn't seem to be plagued with these issues. Performance is really well optimized. Matchmaking is really quick. I haven't noticed any netcode issues. Gameplay is really tight. It's just a shallow, shallow game. Battlefront would be more appropriately priced at $20 for what it offers.

Isn't "using the same old mechanics with just a different skin on everything" the definition of CS:GO? :p

I'm sick of CoD games no matter what they add. Battlefield 3 and 4 lost my trust with too many netcode issues. Halo 5 is actually a really solid arena shooter. Very balanced and actually feels fresh gameplay-wise (i.e. not just a skin). Then again, I'm probably biased or whatever because Halo 2 and 3 were so poorly balanced and played weird, so of course Halo 5 is going to feel great to me. I also think it's hard to find a nicely balanced, solid arena FPS these days, and Halo 5 fits that for me.

CS is only good for gun game. ;) trololol

Same old mechanics yes, because it's not afraid of what it is. A tried and true shooter. And highly refined in both gameplay balance and with the engine/netcode.

Not to mention near infinite skill-cap.

I honestly think people who play all these nu-shooters should just go play Clash of Clans with Merv and his kids.

hahahah, you joke but honestly last time I hopped into BF or CoD I rekt all these 13 year olds. Playing this shit is just too easy after you've been tempered by twitch CS gameplay. The 13 year olds who play CSGO are a hell of a lot better.

    Ohhh, big strong man!

I like to think Halo 5 has a pretty good skill cap. Maybe not infinite like CS, but definitely higher than CoD. BF, like I said, too many netcode issues. Hard to do anything right when your hits never register. I gave up on it. Battlefront has a pretty low skill cap. Pretty easy to jump in and play and do OK.

Truth is, I'm actually pretty awful at CS, decent-at-best with most other shooters. So, of course, very appropriate for me to talk shit, right? :)

Side topic, did anyone ever play Chivalry: Medieval Warfare? I LOVE that game. I also LOVE low gravity servers. Look up low gravity gameplay on Youtube. So goddamn fun. I was surprisingly good at it, probably because it was weird to play in low grav.

Oh, Shattered Horizon...that game had promise and a cool concept but died off so quickly. Too bad. I'd like to see more space/no-grav FPS.

I was planning to but a PS4 for FIFA16 and FFX/X-2, but now the money will probably go to the new TH-X00.

BF4 is quite good now. The community has gotten better (on EU servers..). Lots of balancing and improvements imo. I got bored a year ago. Now coming back to it, i am getting a good vibe from it. Proper team play is quite common now, at least on most servers i play on.

I am getting far less micro stutter with Mantle than DX11. I think that the FPS improvement is trivial. There is something else to it.
