I'm a generally cheerful guy who's curious and creative. My audio adventure started at 5 years old on my dad's McIntosh receiver with Koss headphones that were larger than my head turning up The Chipmunks' "Rootin' Tootin' Cowboy" on the canon part.

I put a ridiculous car stereo system in my old VW Rabbit in high school, built speakers with my grandfather in college and built a giant subwoofer while in grad school to utilize a 6ft piece of 21" pvc pipe I found on campus (f3 20hz)

My headphone journey started a couple of years ago with a primary focus on value after my new son-in-law wanted for a set of Beats for Christmas and I wanted to teach him a lesson about price vs sound quality ;-)

Now, a couple of years later, I have accumulated too many headphones but I'm still on the search for that unicorn of extraordinary performance at low cost. I generally prefer sensitive headphones that can produce eye-blinking dynamics without distortion (rare) on an amp with lots of headroom to spare.

My personal music preferences are pretty varied from Bach to Boston to Bela Fleck. Film scores, electronica, ambient, rock, metal (no screaming), and prog.

I live in Alpine, Utah. We have 6 kids 20-30 yrs old and 3 grand kids. I teach strategy in business school after many years of consulting and tech and health ventures. Please reach out and connect with me on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/eliotjacobsen/

Finally, I'm usually learning about something new: My focus at this time is in the area of mitochondrial disfunction and disease and 3D design/printing.
