the apple watch is super nice for fitness tracking and for getting glanceable info on stuff like weather, but to be honest for me personally it's just become a glorified timer/alarm device and basically a fancy pomodoro tracker. I still love it because it's the best alarm, timer, and pomodoro device I've experienced, but won't deny it's overkill haha
ahhh I LOVE the iPad, but for me it's basically a glorified Procreate illustration machine-- nothing wrong with that, and it was absolutely 100% worth it for that use case. For most people it's probably harder to justify though.
I totally get it for digital art but that’s not who’s buying millions of them. What do you do with an iPad as a regular joe? I think people buy them because they just seem cool and hi tech. A laptop is basically the same size but so much more capable.
@rhythmdevils Consider that the vast majority of people who use computers (not the techies, grandmas and kids and parents after work) do the following with them: Browse the internet, send some emails, watch YouTube. The extra capability of a laptop isn’t useful for them, and the iPad is a more comfortable form factor for those activities.
I use an old iPad Pro 92% of the time for the reasons @Merrick said; also for watching movies and for reading anything I don't strongly prefer to have in print. But I really do need my old ThinkPad the other 8% of the time. Laptops are a rip off, but some need them for work-related travel. Whenever I'm ultimately forced to replace mine, I'll get a desktop with enough expansion slots.
I very seldom hold my tablet. My wife bought me a stand that's a sloping "suede"-covered foam cushion with a lip. I used to have a folding metal stand too for travel, but I accidentally stepped on it. But the case works well enough as a stand for short trips.
