Meze Empyrean: v comfortable, bassy, clear, but a bit dull
Susvara: spot-on tonality, need to hear from speaker amp
HE1000SE: impressive, wide, worry about QC
HE1000v2: pretty good, but two above clearly better
Arya: impressive but bright
Yeah, I've enjoyed plenty of dynamics--HD800S, Utopia, HD600, especially--and am sort of hunting around for a nice complement to those. HE1000SE and Susvara both really impressed--naturally, for the $$$--and might go shoot them out again.
I'm not in the market for one but the Sus has been out for 5 years now, which is an eternity for Hifiman given its tendency to release multiple updated versions - and then deeply discount the older ones...
Good point. I'm sure that, if I get a Sus, there will be a Sus 2 right around the corner. I have to say, they really nailed the tonality. And it's got an immediacy and level of natural detail that's really impressive. So maybe--ha ha--they can't better it yet?
My own opinion - I actually really like the LCD-2 and 3 although not for "accuracy" of sound and would still own my 3 if I got my Cavalli LC before I sold the LCD-3.
Otherwise, the only LCD-X I've ever liked was the @rhythmdevils tuned one. Even at Audeze HQ, I didn't like the X, even off of their King amp (which made every other Audeze I heard sound amazing).
Yeah, I've got my LCD-2F I've had for a while. Not much rated here, but I really enjoy them. They're dark and closed-in, but they do electronic music beautifully. Sort of a specialty sound.
I'm semi-sad that Audeze seems to have moved away from their older house sound.
