this is a really fascinating thread. i definitely intend to try this when i have time and resources. i have a couple thoughts to add.

are you always using granite slabs? granite has a host of electromagnetic properties. you may be getting some shielding or radio interference effects that help clear your signal path. i'd love to hear if you hear a difference in your system using different weight objects.

question for you to clarify: i understand why speaker housings resonating would matter, given that the vibrations will transfer to the drivers and modulate them, creating distortions. i don't quite understand why subtle vibrations would effect gear, like a dac or an amp. why would vibrations matter here?
