@Thad E Ginathom, talking image equivalents, to me treble peak-iness would be highlight roll-off, the shape of higher values as they approach the clipping point. Diffraction stars are a common artifact inherent to a capture instrument that differ between manufacturers, so I'd say microphone pickup pattern is your aperture and the timbre of the mic is like your number of blades/onion rings/flares/whathaveyou

Yes, thanks: nothing to panic about except the bill.

It is back home, and now under test. But they found that they had to replace both the graphics card and the ram. Being a very decent company, they have said, test it first, then we'll bill you.

It's not a fancy graphics card, quiet low-end as they go, and only 32Gb ram, but still, it adds up to a significant amount. Or will, judging by the build-time component costs.

Bottom line: I'm just happy to have it back. I hate doing internet for multiple hours and days on mobile devices.

But hey, basics like *all connections* /should/ come first.

All dry now, thanks. And yes, we kept the water out.

We are on low ground. In fact our house is lower than the road (it wasn't when it was built) and we even have to pump out our grey water. We have a powerful 2hp pump, backed by a generator (we had no mains for 2 days) that does cope with that rain

I was most worried about compound walls taking the weight of 2ft-plus of water outside. They did.

It is really just a John demo song. They just flushed it out with full production. Sure, Paul and Ringo and even George were involved, but in the end it was just a little song John recorded on cassette one day.

No doubt true. And yes, it's a bit of history. It could have had a corner in some collection.

What makes it notable is the technology with which they isolated his voice from piano, and that this wasn't possible the last time they tried in 1995.

@Azimuth in a sense, it’s “just a John demo song,” but John wrote it with Paul in mind. When Yoko gave the band the four unfinished songs in 1994, they were on cassette tapes with the words “for Paul” written on them in John’s handwriting. John wrote the songs with his old songwriting partner in mind, even after they had broken up.

Working in TV, the 7506 is the standard headphone for our editors and content creators, we probably have hundreds of them, as is true of other facilities I have seen. As ASR will tell you, it is pretty much Harman curve, so for SBAF folks it isn't a pleasure headphone. It isolates well, has a predictable response, and decent build for price. They're basically Avantones for headphones. Even Amir didn't enjoy them

Typically Jews are the only ones who comment on it, aside from a super racist landlord who wanted to make sure I wasn't Greek and was happy when he thought I was Jewish because I would have lots of money to pay my rent.
