@Gazny I don't have a fav yet, but what I do really appreciate is the album's balance of simple house-derived feel (like Perfect Strangers), with super complex mixes (like Drums of Death). It's that whole "just because I can doesn't mean I should, everywhere" idea I love hearing through an entire album.

@yotacowboy That is pretty similar how I feel about it, I guess I'm trying to say none of the tracks feel out of place. Essentially it's a cohesive album that pushes further than the previous ones. Makes sense given the cover and the criticism of being an artist going back to Pattinson and the online reception. Seems it's always been uphill battle with online cometary.

One of my favorite artists, it is more intimidating for a casual listen than the rest of the catalog. But I am deep into the art of the artist, and much less a critic. I would call it bias, but for the pursuit of expression.

Glad to do this for you if you haven't found anyone.

All this to say, ten days is freaking fantastic! and I love that the dopamine squirt of new music is 10x a new shiney box of circuits or magnets and wire. Go forth, friends, find new music and stop worrying about what upsampling and filtering sounds best with your new AES/EBU cable and 57lb linear power supply.

Haha, it’s funny how we can have such different opinions. I’m a huge KOC fan, and Versus is by far my least favorite of their albums. I do still like it though.

Really cool how they used just a bar or two for such an important part of the track. The McCann album is also notable (and great) for the way this hard-bop musician evolved to multi-track himself in a somewhat unprecedented manner. Two path-blazing acts.

@ilikebananafudge_ pretty sure @yotacowboy is still referring to Gungnir 1 A2 here, Gungnir 2 is still in pre-orders until the end of the month-ish. Could be wrong, maybe he got the hookup.

Correct, I owned Gungnir Multibit 1/OG, Analog 2 (B serial number, IIRC) for couple years before I picked up Yggdrasil A2, then LIM, then A1, then MIB. I am not referring to the new multiform Gungnir 2.

Your speaker rig already sounded fantastic with LIM! Those Audio Note speakers are the real deal!

What do you find better about the A2 in your rig compared to the LIM?

better air & space, microdynamics, little bit tighter bass. The prior owner of my speakers had refoamed them only 2 months before I purchased them, so LIM was a better match while the foams were still stiff (a touch dry sounding). things seem to have broken in now and now A2 has more even/"neutral" synergy with the rounder/fuller speakers.

I still have the old chassis on my Yggdrasil as well. TBH though I don't plan on ever trying different boards out so.....maybe one day I'll get the updated chassis but it won't be in the near future.

Any updates on round deux?

muuuuch better. I'm thinking something was quite non-performant with the boards I originally bought. These new boards sound nothing like the old ones.
