Can someone explain a "cool" sound? I get warm, neutral, and bright which is the continuum I am used to.

At its best, it sounds like Glenn Gould: somewhat staccato, very little to no sustain pedal. PMx2 especially; ER4S, regardless of filter.

Best bet is to trim the inner plastics, it's too thick to fit in the holes.

Sennheiser did have a guide to getting them on. I can't find the pic in my folders, but you put the pads on the headphone as much as you can & then place one side of the headphone w/earpads facing down on a desk & then you apply even pressure from the back.

Just don't apply pressure to the thin metal parts from the back.

One went on with only minor frustration, it took a serious amount of pressure against the desk to get the other on. Looks like the tolerances weren't great. I feel like I just smashed half the life out of them.

My *theory* is that they are making these parts for the HD800S now, and maybe the design is only 99.9% compatible. That 0.1% with the pads causes grief.

Wow. This Riva Festival is fantastic. Bigger than I was expecting, but very nice bass. Much more useful in the apt than the Turbo X.

Have 2 Echos, a Dot connected to a Turbo X, a Show 5 connected to the Festival, and a 3rd gen Dot creating a pretty seamless envelope of pleasant sound throughout the place now. No single point of sound blasting to fill it up.

I have a Festival and Turbo X as well. The Festival is less impressive because of its size. It can really put out the volume, but the bass is a bit boomy. The Turbo X has a lot of bass rolloff but is pretty cool because of how it sounds in relation to the size.

Well, at 40, I am neither old nor young. I am still sensitive to the treble of my HE-560, so I am not all deaf yet. I am not actually sure which tubes I have. Whatever Ogodei included with the amp. Probably older tubes, as I definitely hear the L2 as fairly laid back.

Maybe this BOTW sequel will have a less-empty world to explore, and less grunting and chuckling in talking to NPCs. A better plot wouldn't hurt, either. This, OTOH, will be a hell of a game to have a Switch port for, especially for frequent air travelers: https://twitter.com/witchergame/status/1138480181558071302

Yeah, (s)witcher 3 (sorry, bad pun) is definitely day 1 purchase for me. Still need to finish Skyrim for the umphteenth time.

I love BOTW, still struggling in Master Mode because Link is so friggin' weak at the beginning, but the game itself is entertaining enough without a story. But then more of that is just... too repetitive. I also think a better story would be better.

I got to compare my L-2 w/ CineMag output transformers to a Cavalli Liquid Fire. The guy who sold me the Liquid Fire had seller's remorse. I honestly felt the L-2 was the better amp and trucked it right back to him. Even tried some 6n23p-EV and Philips E88CC tubes in the Liquid Fire. Liquid Fire is probably better than Liquid Platinum, definitely not as good as the Liquid Crimson.

I believe the best way to truly help people and make positive change in the world is to remove the barriers to people helping themselves. As such, I am a founding partner of a low profit limited liability company (L3C) that helps aspiring entrepreneurs in low income neighborhoods start their businesses as well as redevelop real estate for their use. We are currently working with 6 entrepreneurs in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago, with several more lined up for our next cohort. Our first property is currently under redevelopment and will house 3 of our entrepreneurs. A second property that will house the other 3 entrepreneurs should be ours within the next couple months.

Working with the City of Chicago, various community organizations, and a social impact lending institution, we have secured enough grants and loans to start our venture. However, the terms of the loans and grants don’t cover all the purchases we need to make. Things like computers, inventory systems, commercial kitchen equipment, etc. (basically anything that can be removed from the properties) are on us to acquire. As a result, we are launching a crowdfunding campaign to make sure our entrepreneurs have all the little things that they need to successfully open and keep open their doors. It is also a great way for the public to get to know our organization and the entrepreneurs that we help.

There is a lot more to the company that makes it unique that can adequately be described in this format, so if you are interested, you can visit our website at egwoode.com to learn a little bit more about the company and our entrepreneurs. Our crowdfunding campaign is here: https://www.bluefundrewards.com/projects/e-g-woode-a-crowdfunding-campaign/

And of course, if you have any questions about the company, the campaign, or about social impact investing in general, please send me a PM and I will be happy to chat with you.
